Reviews for Jimmy O'Bannon: The Adventure Begins
Zoe Walker chapter 46 . 8/10/2016
Frikkin awesome. I don't think anything else needs to be said.
The Wasp1995 chapter 46 . 5/22/2015
This was an incredible story. How does this not have more reviews? It's a good way to get an insight of the perspectives of the people watching the tournament and not participating. Plus the hockey plot was fuckin awesome. Jimmy O'Bannon is the funniest little mick on the planet. I look forward to reading more about his adventures in the other stories you've written. Well done sir, well done.
SortingHat chapter 3 . 1/30/2015
I sure hope you enjoy you're 15 mins of fame on here for you're ego fic.
SortingHat chapter 2 . 1/30/2015
This fic could've been really good as there are no grammar errors or Mary Sue's but you choose to make this a boring script fic under the guise of a different character.

"George not stupid" (Quote from George of The Jungle movie)
lovemya2000 chapter 19 . 9/30/2014
Too Bad Ron Didn't Believe Harry When Malfoy Really Became A Death Eater. Fantastic Story. I Usually Hate OCs. Malfoy Is A Bigoted Lunatic Idiot And I Don't See Why People Felt Sorry For Him In Hbp And DH. So What If Voldemort Was Going To Kill His Family He's Still An Evil Racist Dick. Great Story
SpunSilk chapter 27 . 8/24/2014
Ho ho! "He began to enjoy the risk." brought this little speech to mind:

So, oft it chances in particular men,
That for some vicious mole of nature in them,
Or by some habit that too much o'er-leavens
The form of plausive manners, that these men,
Carrying, I say, the stamp of one defect,
Their virtues else-be they as pure as grace,
Shall in the general censure take corruption.
––Hamlet

Watch it, Jimmy. It's a slippery slope.
SpunSilk chapter 26 . 8/13/2014
"Growing up in New England, you could do one of two things. Hate the cold, or embrace it." Oh yeah. So true. Works growing up in Michigan as well. Nice touch.
SpunSilk chapter 24 . 8/13/2014
Very nicely handled! Everyone in such gob-stopped shock at his sitting there talking to them, nobody thought about punching him. That took guts.
I like to see 'strong' guy-characters using their *heads* to entrap an enemy, instead of their fists!
SpunSilk chapter 23 . 8/6/2014
Nice bit of action, with the dousing in to pond. Very believable and well described. You have a nice way of seeing magical possibilities where I don't. I would have never thought of making the ice 'disappear' under a hockey team. But what a great way to insult them/endanger them (but not too much)/ and let the bullies do a little torturing of them to move the story along.
SpunSilk chapter 22 . 8/6/2014
Floaty Balls! :-) !
SpunSilk chapter 19 . 8/4/2014
Very imaginative with the Candy Castle and the chocolate dragon! You are comfortable in the Hogwarts' world, it shows. The conversation and magic entwine very naturally.

And it's always fun to watch somebody fall in love :-)
SpunSilk chapter 18 . 8/4/2014
Sparks are flying for Jimmy, now!

'He could think of only one word to describe it. Grace.' Nice wordage.
SpunSilk chapter 15 . 11/20/2013
"insults and accusations and anatomical impossibilities". Nice phrasing. You handled the conflict scene well, I felt like I was watching it happen.

The tribal-mentality of the Houses system in the Harry Potter series always baffled me. It seemed set up to invite conflict where no conflict was warranted. But then again, tribalism makes no sense to me in the real world, either...
And I include sports team fans there. It does seem to be pretty strong in a lot of my fellow humans, though.
SpunSilk chapter 14 . 11/20/2013
With your attention to detail, I'm sure the British phrases you use are real. Have been enjoying them, and your OC's confusion.

Loved the lawn chair :-)
SpunSilk chapter 12 . 11/18/2013
"Barba absentis!" What a hoot!
Nice backgrounds on the roommates, fills them out, opens many possibilities for down-stream.
