daisyscrapper chapter 7 . 3/24 What a great read! Thank you for writing it! |
Guest chapter 7 . 2/18/2019 This is so good! I love it, you portray all these characters so well! Good job! Off to read the sequel. |
ink7blot chapter 7 . 9/19/2018 God, I felt like I was reading a Jane Austen novel! Hey, a Draco/Astoria Pride and Prejudice AU... just might work... If we use a couple other characters and make Draco a bit more of an ass, maybe it could work... |
mcepl chapter 7 . 4/11/2018 I like this, because it is better of stories trying to make Draco Malfoy more humane (if that endeavour itself has any merit is another question), but I still don't believe it. Her turn from hatred of truly disgusting person to love is too swift in my opinion, not enough struggle. Also, I think, you (and I would guess 100% of all Drastoria shippers) miss much more interesting plot of a story, which could be really interesting. And that is about arranged marriages. In all stories involving Draco Malfoy post-DH I read (not that many of them, I am not a big DM fan) arranged marriages are used only for some ugly SM porn-crap, and never treated seriously. I think there are two possible ways how to treat them: a) actually, seriously. Two reasons. First, I believe still majority of population in the world lives in arranged marriages, and we EuroAmericans should be more respectful to them and try to understand whether there isn't something we miss (I don't know, and I cannot answer this question). The second, after almost twenty two years of marriage, I still don't know what is more important in marriage: the fact that my wife is the best woman in the world (and she is!), or the hard work, respect, decency and will to cooperate, ask for forgivness and forgive from both of us. However, I am certain, it is pity that 99.9% of all romcom stories completely ignore the latter. b) or go for the romantic marriage, but then Astoria should go to Draco and tell him something like this: “Draco, I found out that you are not such git as I believed before, so I am willing to go so far as to give us new start. Could we first just kill this stupid Bonding junk, and be friends to found out about each other more? And yes, if you eventually ask me out, I am now somewhat inclined to consider that idea.” |
Melindaleo chapter 7 . 2/24/2018 This was a fabulous story! You brought the characters to life so richly. I can't believe you made Draco Malfoy interesting! I'm one who never understands the Malfoy worship in the fandom, and think he's at most, a coward. I cheered when Astoria called him one. This story though, was so intriguing, and I actually found myself holding my breath to see if he'd appear in time for the dance! You have no idea how unusual that is! Astoria intrigues me greatly, and I, too, have been using her more lately. I didn't like Draco in canon, not even in DH when I thought he had his chance at redemption, but still chose his side when he tried to turn Harry over. In Cursed Child, however, I found him enjoyable and interesting. It made me start wondering about Astoria, because I reckoned she was the one who initiated the change. You brought her to life and gave her such personality, all while exploring the backdrop of Pureblood arranged marriages. I really liked the relationship you portrayed between the sisters, too. I find writing in the first person really hard to do, but except for the very beginning where there was some confusion, I thought you did it remarkably well. Do we know Astoria's age for certain? Is she three years younger? I put her in Ginny's year, but I'm really not sure if that's my screw up, lol. This was great - Well done! |
ebdarcy.qt4good chapter 6 . 6/10/2017 Very well written. Great work! |
TooManyShipsI'llSink chapter 7 . 4/27/2017 Awww. That was a lovely story. Drastoria is one of my favourite ships and the way you captured their characters is the way I've always imagined them to be. Kudos. |
AnnabethGinevraJacksonPotter chapter 7 . 3/26/2017 I love this story so much. Draco's dealing with the war is something so profound the way you wrote it. This is amazing! |
morphin3 chapter 7 . 3/7/2017 Oh. My. God. The voice of this story is PERFECT. Chapter 6 is probably my favorite, because I'm a sappy romantic. I love that Scorpius was born at home, and I love that birth was mentioned without description {as a birth doula, it is *painful* to read descriptions of labors and births in fanfictions, not gonna lie}. Excellent piece. You have maybe converted me to be a post-DH Draco fan :) |
maplefeathers403 chapter 7 . 3/6/2017 Oh my... oh my. That was just... beautiful. I can't think of another word to describe it. Especially ch.6- it was just beautiful, all silhouettes and Drastoria conversations and pendants. Simply speechless- rendering. I take off my hat to you! (Despite the fact that I am female. ;- p) |
sand beneath our feet chapter 6 . 3/3/2017 Ive forgotten what i wanted to right again. Gosh i wish my phone would load fatser anyhow, Chaoter 6 is my favorite chapter. sand beneath our feet chapter 5 . 3/3/2017 I forgot what i was going to say because to keep readong... Goodness, i could read your stories for days and days. Usuallu i cant stand long stories, but darling, have heart. theyare alive, and real, and so beautiful. |
tysedon chapter 7 . 2/22/2017 damn! that is...so good! it's very beautiful. now i want a continuation which is about the scorpius that have the parents like this draco and astoria. oh god. i'm too greedy now. thanks for this story! |
you are my elysium chapter 7 . 9/19/2016 You know... I think I first read this story about two years ago. Maybe more. I really loved it, and it inspired me to go and look for more Draco/Astoria stories. It actually might have been the story that converted me to that pairing. Since I read it the first time several years ago, I've come back and re-read it several times as well (the latest being a couple days ago). And I still have to take my hat off to you because it is still the best Draco/Astoria story I've read, and each time I read it I love it even more. You make Draco a character that is redeemable and flawed and human, and you make Astoria much the same. It's a love story between two humans as opposed to two characters and that's what enchants me every time I read it. It's not love at first sight or passion or infatuation, it's a relationship that grows despite the circumstances. I think I might have actually cried several times reading it, which is somewhat rare for me. I'm sure it's not the last time I'll read it but I think it's the first time I've reviewed it, but I thought that a story I've reread this many times... well, the author ought to at least know how much I love it. |
acomplexgirlwithsimpletastes chapter 1 . 5/22/2016 Hi. I am a relatively die-hard Dramione fan (don't hate) but. But. I suppose, if canon must be followed, and my ship must be sunk, this love story between Astoria and Draco (dear god, the rabid fans of my fandom, do not descend!) is not a bad way to go. In fact, it's really quite entirely lovely, and you have an eager new fan. I wish you more awakenings at 2am and more itches to write at school or work, if only we get to see more of your writing. Kudos. |
