This was absolutely wonderful! I recently reread Count Cain for the like tenth time and I was craving some Cain/Riff stories and this one definitely made my day! Very happy to see there are some Count Cain lovers out there (:

Riff is an important figure in the story but often other characters overshadow him ... However in the end, Riff is always there with Cain .. in a way ..

Action speaks louder than words ... and that is what Riff is ...

This story was absolutely incredible! I have also been intrigued by the relationship Cain and Riff shared and the way Yuki presented it in the manga. It is just like you said, that she put it there and we as the readers had to accept it, but I like the way you said it better :) I think if Yuki were to actually write out their relationship, she couldn't have done it better than you. This was really a great story and I really enjoyed the way you unfolded their story together: Cain's gradual understanding of his feelings for Riff and Riff fighting Cain's advancements because he cares too much for Cain. Seriously, it was awesome :D Anyway, I ramble too much, but this was great!

I don't think my love for this story can be put into words. It was... Well it was the story of my OTP and there for amazing.

I have been dying for good fic for these characters for weeks now. On a whim, I check back here.

This I LOVE. I like that it starts as a crush and gets more and more intense until Cain just can't anymore. So. Damn. PERFECT.

Nothing has made me laugh this much for some time, really. You somehow had in this an astounding combination of romance and angst and light-hearted humor. And you write these two perfectly. Gah, how I envy you.

I was really impressed with the way you developed things between Riff and Cain, because it's a challenge to break down their relationship like that and your insights were was really good. I agree that in the series Cain and Riff's relationship always just seemed like a law of nature, not something you can reckon with; which is awesome, but a little overwhelming. It was nice to see the background between them established over time in this fic. I also agree that Cain is messed up and it's fantastic; that's what I read Godchild for in the first place. I'm glad you're working on expanding the fan base, and I fully support you on that. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, keep writing.
