Update please

Reading this really makes me see how lost Edward was, and how hard he had to struggle to come back! Amazing story...I have a relative who does home visits, and the stories of children she sees are just as sad as Edward's, and some even worse. How can some people be so cruel to children? Thanks for sharing this story!

Are we going to be having an Edward POV?

I don't know what to say. I am hoping we will learn more about him. I think this is the first story I have read about how Edward came to them, human at least.

Really loved the background story.

This was very good. It was fascinating glimpse inside the minds of this family. How each person can view the same situation so differently depending on their personal history as a reference point, or depending on their knowledge or lack of knowledge of key information. Not one of them is fully informed and so no one is capable of making a breakthrough.

This is gutt-wrenching, but I'm all in.

I feel for Emmett. He so wants to bond with Edward, but he keeps pressing poor Edward's triggers. Threats, and porn. This is partially Carlisle and Esme's fault for not communicating more fully with Alice and Emmett about Edward's issues. It's so sad that the family is in crisis.

The entire family seems to have welcomed Edward and tried to make him feel at home and a part of the family. He is a traumatized and troubled boy, and he likely doesn't know what to do with the affection that is shown to him. He probably feels like the misfit in a perfect family. Carlisle is very good at not looking his cool or rising to the bait. Edward has tested him over and over to see if/when would be the breaking point when Carlisle finally has had enough and sends him away. Hopefully trust comes soon.

I've finally gotten the courage to dive into this story. I haven't read Loner yet, but I figured I'd start here. This is very engaging so far. Yes, it's an awful, painful subject, but it's written well. I'm interested and invested already.
