Reviews for Shadows of the Past
werewolfsfan chapter 2 . 6/26/2014
This does help to make a bit of sense of how John stayed away from his sons like that. Thank you.
HeroicDean chapter 2 . 9/25/2012
Loved this one and the way that it tied into the Pilot and everything that happened with Max. I have wondered forever if John knew about Mary being a hunter and that history, its nice to see someone taking such a realistic approach as to why John left the hunt in Jericho, and how he came into contact with Max Miller, and especially his contact with Jim Murphy, who I'm sure was like a rock to that man for many years and for many reasons.
NongPradu chapter 2 . 7/27/2011
Another great chapter! I was kind of hoping this wouldn't end.

This was a great explanation for how John found out about Sam. I had always wondered if Mary ever spoke to any of the other people in Lawrence that made deals after she'd made hers. And Jim Miller - I wondered if it was him or his wife who made the deal all those years ago. Such a great idea to have him be that blue-eyed kid from "In the Beginning."

And John believing that he's the reason Dean eventually dies and deciding to stay away from him at all costs to prevent that from happening (like in "Faith"). Too bad it was all emotional baggage and angst of John's doing that leads Dean towards his destiny, and not any one physical act. But vision is always 20/20 in hindsight, right?

Excellent job with this. I really loved it. A lot.
Linnie McCary chapter 2 . 7/27/2011
Lovely weaving-together of many threads-thanks for sharing this here!
primadonna cat chapter 2 . 7/27/2011
This is am excellent version of what john might have done behind the scenes and how he knew what Ke did.
Psychee chapter 1 . 7/26/2011
I don't believe I have read the first episode from John's point of view. It was interesting, well done and totally in character. I'll be looking forward to part 2.
NongPradu chapter 1 . 7/25/2011
This is a great start! You know, I thought about tackling this very same topic myself (John's journey to discovering the demon's plans, that is).

I cannot wait to see where you go with this. So far your characterization is spot on, and your take on it is very intriguing. (And also very plausible! OF COURSE John would have found out about the Millers!)

Update soon!
