Slovenskych chapter 17 . 12/16/2014 I loved how you brought them back together - you handled the issue very well without making it too melodramatic. I can tell you really understand the complexities of this issue, unlike most of us looking in from the outside. What can I say, this is now my favorite German brothers fic! :D |
Slovenskych chapter 12 . 12/16/2014 Wow. You know, I've had a lot of people ask me to write the Fall, but I can't do it because I have nothing else to add - it's been written a thousand times. But THIS. THIS is different, this is awesome and so realistic and somehow even more heart-wrenching than the typical Berlin Wall scene. Thank you THANK YOU for this! |
Slovenskych chapter 10 . 12/16/2014 This is definitely my favorite chapter. I LOVE how you drew the parallel between the man Russia beat and Reiniger. And the flashback, the way he remembered, was just beautiful. :') |
Slovenskych chapter 8 . 12/16/2014 When I realized that it was PRUSSIA'S idea to build the Wall, that just chilled me. But it makes sense, with the brain drain and all, that he'd want his people to stay. Still, it's sad that he doesn't connect with his own people. You make his transition into GDR so seamless and believable! |
Slovenskych chapter 4 . 12/15/2014 OH MY GOSH. You Eduard. IS PERFECT. I absolutely love him. Your dialogue is amazing, very natural and realistic. The tension is just.. aughh! |
Slovenskych chapter 1 . 12/15/2014 Wow, I can tell this is going to be great! Love the history notes, and the writing itself is well-done. I can really feel the time period here. |
kirayasha aka kira chapter 17 . 12/12/2014 LOVED it! 3 |
invasionofblossoms chapter 17 . 2/15/2014 This is amazing. Brilliant. I loved it, thank you. |
Kameya Karona chapter 16 . 11/17/2012 Even better the second time around! I caught more details when reading it. This story is definatelty on my short list of all time favorites. |
Guest chapter 17 . 8/13/2012 nice |
Kameya Karona chapter 17 . 8/5/2012 This is an amazing story. I was so worried about Prussia as things progressed. I even found myself tearing up at moments and getting angry at others. Church Bells. I understand the beauty of their song. That's why when I was wandering a garden center one day and heard a group of massive chimes that reminded me of them, I cried and bought them that second. Well done |
lynne-monstr chapter 17 . 7/30/2012 So I just mainlined this entire story this morning! I got so into it my coffee went cold (which is kind of a big deal for me). The way you described Prussia’s progression throughout, with all the conflicting emotions and anger and madness and desperation, was really well done and the fact that it was sometimes painful to read is a testament to that, in a very good way. I like how you didn’t shy away from how Prussia did horrible things during his time as the GDR. The scene in the hospital with Prussia and the flashback to fleeing Konigsberg was particularly powerful. I also loved the conversation between Germany and Romano near the end, and how Germany finally got it and was able to connect with Prussia at the church. Great fic and great job! |
Germany142 chapter 17 . 7/26/2012 Amazing! My friends and I all love it! Thank you! Best story I've read in quite sometime |
DLHKM chapter 17 . 7/25/2012 Lovely! I've been following this story for quite some time, impatiently waiting for updates and poring over the words every time a new chapter was released, and now it's finished! I'm glad, but at the same time this is terribly sad because the story's over; I'm SO excited for the one-shots. Gilbert and Ludwig have gone a longways and reading this epilogue gave me a very pleasant sense of closure; I'm so happy for them. This was brilliant; you're amazing. Until next time! |
Naviar chapter 17 . 7/24/2012 *tear* It's over... *tear* I commend you on this story once again. I think it's thrown everyone for a loop, but it was a good loop! I've gained a whole new perspective on Gil's post-WWII life and you are to thank for it. So, thanks for writing such an emotional tale! I look forward to these oneshots you speak of! |
