I'm gonna be completely honest here.

I'm not...totally satisfied with the way this has ended. I really feel like you could have stretched it out a bit more, added a bit more drama. It's like you had this really great dramatic flow of action that had only just reached the crisis, but hasn't gotten to the climax or falling action, and has gone straight to the denoument. It would have been nice to see them somehow try and make amends, or to see Snape try and go after her, either by going out for her himself or weaseling the information of her whereabouts out of Dumbledore. Really, if he ACTUALLY cared for her, I doubt he would just let her slip right through his fingers, especially if it's his "last chance" for love.

In a way, you could really take some of the elements from "Moulin Rouge", if you've ever seen it xD Snape and Sapphire are almost rather a genderbent version of Christian and Satine, and I think you could still pull off the sad ending you were looking for even after stretching out the story and adding more to the romance and the drama.

Of course, these are just suggestions, and you don't HAVE to abide by them :P I do love this story, but at the same time I still would have liked to have gotten more from it.

NOOO! This is so sad, I love Sapphire and I always knew that Snape died, but I can't believe she met Harry at Snape's funeral. It was a bit weird that she kissed a dead guy...but whatever...THIS WAS GREAT

That was depressing...and really good...but, really depressing.

This ending made me cry... Amazing story, but so sad... I love Snape to death and I really wish he and Sapphire stayed together... Very sad. Very good, but very sad.

Aww this is so sad, I was literally on the verge of tears. I feel so terrible for Snape because he thinks that she doesn't want him any more! This is the best Fan Fic in the history of the world. Dumbledore is cruel. Personally I always wondered what he did to feed Severus obsession with Lily. His talk about love is simply bullshit - he has never cared for Severus, he threatened him with expulsion when he was nearly killed by the Marauders, he never did anything to help an abused boy who was bullied by his classmates. So your story and his treatment of Severus relationship with Sapphire absolutly fits. What has Severus done in his life that Dumbledore thinks he doesn't deserve love? Congratulations, I've always been rather suspicious about Dumbledore and his motives anyway, but your story makes me loath him. I believe that everyone should get the same chances and should be treated equally - Dumbledore never did he prefered Gryffindor bullies, he helped first years to break rules and rewarded them for it. Well, he doesn't randomly kill people for having the wrong parents or beliefs, but that is the only thing that makes him better than Voldemort.

Dumbledore is an arse. Destroying the only chance for Severus to be happy. He is always going on about love, but doesn't encourage Severus to find love, but feeds his obsession for Lily. That's sick. But I think very canon-compliant.

I feel so bad for Sapphire and Snape, but what Dumbledore is saying makes so much sense. Poor Severus, nothing ever really works put for him... :(
