Funnily enough, I AM a steam of conscious type of person, and I suggest getting Dragon Naturally Speaking (it's a speech to text thing that can learn to deal with accents, twangs, and slurs [the "shomebahdy" type of slur, not the "oh fudge" type] the more you use it), as it's super helpful for taking notes, and writing when your thoughts fly so much faster than you can write/type. I still have to go through and edit for punctuation, but it's worth it, and it's helpful for when you want to write stream of conscious to show how panicked, excited, etc a character is.
