Astounding! That last line got me right in the heart!

ugh laura! i had never read this one. dying of feels right now. that last line and this ep.

"I think I'll do whatever you want, Kate Beckett." -just imagining him breathless, the way he's looking at her and then, that line.

"She closes her eyes too, to keep from blurting everything out, lets herself rest against him. She really can't have this conversation today. His palm slides up and down her back, soothing instead of stoking; she's grateful he knows the difference, that he's letting it go. So grateful. Because there's no used to about it."- I love this so much.

I love that he goes to Lanie for advice. It's hard for me to believe that he hasn't done that at some point through the years after all they've been through (aside from when he talks to her way early on about the stab wounds). I wish I had made note of things along the way bc there's a ton that I really loved and should have highlighted. But yeah, slightly incoherent after that ending :)

Never stopped loving him? That is pretty beautiful I think. Really nice chapter!

This is a great approach to this part of their story! I hadn't actually thought that Kate was in love with him by that summer, but he was definitely embedded in her heart to some extent! This is good stuff!

I only have one thing to say about this: "GUHHHH!"

Sweet Jeebus on a pickle, that was hot! Pretty far from how things were by the end of "Knockout" but damn awesome all the same! And the backstory for Lanie and Katie being best friends? It feels..real, fits their natures and displayed relationship. Which I think is a measure a great author working with someone else's sandbox!

Yeah, definitely no used to be. I liked to read about Kate and Lanie's back story.

Two thumbs up for the part where Castle pulls her into his arms claiming that he needs a hug. Perfection.

"She used to be in love with you, Castle."

"What! When?"

"Last year. Before the summer. She was in love with you."

Fabulous! I've always wanted him to know that. That's one of the most heartrending Castle scenes - when she's about to tell him and then Gina shows up. Ugh. I'm glad you're setting things straight here :)

Another story read, more tears I shed :) The way you write moves me so much. I would've liked a firmer ending to this story - maybe just knowing that things will be right for caskett and Kate won't take Castle down that dark road with her... but hey, at least I can tell myself that's what happened, LOL.

That was quite a kiss and quite a story! I love the story of Lanie and Kate, it was great! And the dialogue between Kate and Rick "I'm not saying you can't. I just don't want you to 'have' to handle it." It was really splendid and the end just melted my heart. "Because there's no used to about it" and the soothing instead of stroking. I loved it!
