Ooooh, one of my favorite fanfics is being edited! Let’s start rereading it for the hundredth time! I’ll be covering this chapter by chapter for better comparison purposes, to check what was changed from the original and possibly new additions. (Maybe I’ll find out how Clay beat that cow in the final chapter after five years)
Alright, let’s see if my memory is still fresh after five years!
1. “All he could do was stare back at the atrocity in the mirror.” - I feel this was changed. IIRC in the original said that “he was looking at his face.” Edit added some gravity to the tragic situation that was Rai’s face, and that makes it even funnier!
2. “BELOVED leader” - Yup, they were salty for not being invited to the party, *coughEspeciallyKimikocoughcough*
3. So it was the living room where they were during pretty much the rest of the chapter. In the original, I thought it was the hallway or something. Nice to know the location
4. “Disapproving glare” - I think the original was… dirty? The edit feels better; Makes Rai go: “Really?!”
5. “Fung left them […] with a small smile curved on his lips.” - AAAAAAWWWWW! He loves them!
6. “Whispered Kimiko harshly” - I think that’s a change. Edit makes it seem like she’s kind of trying to cover Rai from Fung hearing the truth (*smirks in RaiKim*)
7. The additions of “dramatically” for Omi and Rai pointing at them adds to their characters. I like it.
8. Okay Rai’s lines were separated, which gives us a break as well as the introduction of this nice addition
9. Everything Kimiko said and Rai ignoring it. Hints at the current situation; Jill bamboozling their scroll, and the others on a break as well as the whole dispute between Raimundo and Kimiko throughout the season
10. “AHEM” - Kek Rai’s trying to avoid this hard
11. “Right behind him” - Oh, Shit music intensifies. Also, Rai turning to Fung with probably a funny expression on his face
12. “Raimundo stood erect at the news.” - … I was a mature individual and did not read into innuendo and did not start giggling at “Raimundo stood erect,” I swear
13. So Omi is asking the question. Good to know.
14. Also, the addition of Fung preparing to explain was pretty cool.
15. So Clay’s asking about not knowing about the others. Also, a nice touch that the dialogue was adapted in his speech pattern
16. “Fung was reading it silently in his thoughts” - I think it was added/ changed. Seems new, but adds tension for the monks as they wait for the rest of the explanation
17. Mojo Dojo will be missed
18. “[…] as he awaited an answer to his desperate question” - Kek, Obvious Omi trying not to have his position threatened is obvious~
19. The addition of Omi jumping up and down was cute. He expected kids to show and him to be big bro!
20. “Heat seemed to radiate in waves from the Xiaolin Dragon of Fire” - Oh Shit intensifies
21. I think putting the exposition after Omi is freed from Kimiko’s grasp is a better change. In the original, I always saw as someone putting a pause button, explain what’s up, then press replay. Omi prolly was outta breath by then.
22. NEW TRANSITION LINE. Alright, I got a way to make sure which chapters got edited!
23. “[…] above his fiery red hair” - Addition, nice for new readers when it comes to getting an image of Jaku
24. ‘I prefer the term, Playa, thank you very much” - …pff…pffftttt…..pffffftHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA! Best line, hands down! The whole exchange deserves to be drawn on paper! Comic page worthy! Jaku disapproving for this is hilarious, Rika in her mind be like “Silent Pants…really?” Silent Pants could be A) Arko being shit a naming stuff (Cosmic Fist heh), B) Arko trying to act insultingly and not say “A Girl” which would make him sexist like Omi and slightly hint at his crush on her (sees her as a girl, while Jaku is like Nah) or C) He had other names for her, but couldn’t apply them cuz they also fit him just as well (Silent, introverted nerds who happen to be bookworms, train a lot, act greedy for power, have a mom shot at a young age, a father who had a great influence on their lives *coughFuckTomcough*, trauma, love Master Sir Bartholomew a whole lot - Jaku too, but I didn’t see it to their extent- went to they Heylin side, elements visible during night time, I mean what totes not similar)
25. “Guan’s ferocious tone echoed across the temple.” - Literally everyone at the Academy: Ah, Arko’s gonna make a scene…
26. “The room was silent before Guan casted a face of solemn and pity towards the boy.” - Why do I see this as Guan looks down at tiny angry gremlin Arko with his arms crossed and pouty?
27. “… as he would put it.” - BURN! Jaku: I’m really handsome! Rika: *press X for doubt*
28. Arko in a forest, punching trunks, crushing rocks, and now kicking dirt too! Only for the price of $9.99!
29. JEERINGLY. That made what was already a great scene even better!
30. “He stared mesmerized at the swirling liquid, feeling the anguish and dejected politics of the side of good waning on him. It was injustice on a side meant to be full of justice.” - Such nice lines. It delves into Arko’s mind, his temptation, and maybe a bit of his philosophy throughout the story
31. More detail on his transformation, nice nice. “His bright blonde hair” Me: *remember Arko in the cave glowing in the dark* Arko Delet, human-sized firefly! Perfect for cave explorations! Only for $50!
32. “[…] feeling the strength and power coarse through him.” - *screams in chapters 57 and especially 58*
33. ‘I will start by getting my revenge.” - SO THAT’S WHAT HE SAID! In the original, the line missing made me think that he was growling at Bean, like a rabid animal. (Also gotta love that his revenge started with him getting the Wu to put Bean back in Yin Yang world. It was revenge, alright, revenge for giving him a shit soup! Jk)

And I think that’s all I found so far. I will be checking the other chapters in case of recent edits.
I’m glad you went back and reread your story. And very glad you enjoyed it! You gave us a marvelous gem, and you should be proud! We thank you for that!

Oh man. This was a wild ride, and I'm super sad it's over. But I know the struggle of trying to write without inspiration all too well, and I'm glad to see the story with a proper ending.
I absolutely adored Rika and Jake throughout this whole thing they were very fun characters to tie into the story, and even Arko grew on me near the end. And I enjoyed Jill. She could be annoying, but it was part of her charm(?!).
I loved the whole thing, but to be honest, season 1 and 2 were my bread and butter. I was suuuuper happy with the way you wrote Chase throughout his involvement, and there were many a night of me squealing like the fangirl I am throughout Rika's while Heylin journey. You managed to balance his evil, yet honorable tendencies really well, and even made him quite despicable while still keeping him...likable? Seems like the wrong word to use, but I was hooked. There was something admirable in just how thorough he was. In fact, if there's one thing I wish had been better resolved, it's her relationship(?) with Chase. There were definitely more than a few hints that he had feelings for her (the Arrow of Aphrodite, his continued if minor involvement with her after his takeover and fall, that one scene where he throws that naked girl out of his chamber after hoping it would distract him), and she even asked him to sleep with her that one time. I'm sure her plotting against his rule soured them against each other a bit, but with most of the other loose ends tied up, it felt like that was one that was left without a solid resolution. Especially given that it was such a cornerstone of season 2. The RikaxJack thing was cute, and while I get why ClayxRika was the ultimate implication, I actually liked it much more at the beginning and was a little tepid on it by the end. They both just changed so much in the course of the story and their interactions became weird after her return to Xiaolin.
The RaixKimi bits were adorable, but I was pulling for Jaku there for a bit. He was just so charming and genuine! But Kimiko wasn't as much herself around him, so it had to go to Rai. I'm glad Jaku found his own girl, though, even if it is complicated.
Overall, I loved the ride you took me on and wish you the best with whatever you're writing now! As you've said to us many a time, you rock!

Really, the story, and even the new characters, and look, I really dont like original characters
Just one thing kept bugging me the whole time: See, as brazilian, Raimundo speaks PORTUGUESE, not spanish. I mean, I understand why everybody thinks we speak spanish, because of the rest of south america, but still, really bothered me.
But that was, still, a hell of a good story, you're so talented girl, keep with the awesome work 3
