Asari have a slow rate of reproduction? Aren't they fertile for like, 1000 years? Benezia might have been a Matriarch when she had Liara. Aethyta, at least, knew Benezia before and after the Matriarch stage.

No race that is fertile practically for their entire lifespan is going to have a slow rate of reproduction. Not with as much sex as the Asari have, being everyone's favorite blue spacebabe.

You used "narrative causality" a whole bunch. Did you just find out what it means when you were writing this? Because that's kinda what it feels like.

Moral relativism? Odd, I thought that it was largely agreed upon that murder is bad. Or stealing (except when the government does it, then it's called "taxes"). Fucking a corpse is wrong, regardless of country, culture, or attitude, as is fucking an animal. Fucking your parents is also a cultural no-no (even the Greeks used Oedipus's marrying of his mother as a BAD thing). Rape is also a reviled crime. Stabbing someone in the back is also considered dishonorable across many cultures.

Those are all universal moral taboos. Thus, morality cannot be relative. Certain aspects of the taboo might change between cultures (like a duel being considered legal and not murder/assault), but a noble could not just murder the King. There would be repercussions for that.

I'm actually not at all interested what a character from a different fanfic is doing in your fanfic. If I wanted to know about that character, I'd read that fanfic. I don't.

Also, I see why you have the SI gain the Prothean Beacon vision- you needed something to tie him to the squad. Only problem is there's huge difference between "Shepard, career military man/woman, idol to millions, Spectre-candidate, and our Commander and friend. We know and trust him/her, and s/he tells us that s/he saw a vision in the Beacon" and "IDK, some traumatized teenage colonist chucklefuck went on a bad sand trip, or something. Claims he saw an ancient machine race wipe out the Protheans."

Sure, ultimately, the Galaxy as a whole didn't take Shep seriously, but I'm not sure everyone on the squad would believe your protag.

Also, one reason Shep had the beacon vision was to show Shep just how brutal this war would be. To show Shep the face of this implacable foe. Instead, it goes to a kid who already knows that the Reapers are evil and must be stopped?
