Man after reading most of your stories, I kind of expected the same genre. I was totally not ready for all this angst, and maybe I'm just emotional, but I honestly felt like crying through this. Ahh I'm a bit confused though. Did Ludwig really die? :/ And Gilbert killed a soldier to save Arthur, but felt guilty about it afterwards? Damn, this is depressing. But I guess that means you did a good job.

This was one of the most intense and amazing pieces of fiction I've read on here. I tip my metaphorical hat to you.

I loved the age difference between Arthur and Gilbert, I somehow feel it wouldn't have worked otherwise- maybe Arthur sees him as someone he can father, seeing as one of his sons is dead and the other is emotionally detached from him?

And the character death! Fff I feel like I shouldn't be saying that as a good thing, but it makes the story so much more realistic- they're humans, and the one certainty of human life is that you do die, and it's not always peacefully in bed at a great age.

I kinda want to know what happens next :3 but I am perfectly satisfied with this- thank you for writing it!

That.. was pretty intense. But I loved it! Aw, but poor Elizabeta, and Ludwig, AND MATTIE! Poor Mattie. Prety much everyone, really.

Anyway, just, wow. I love this.

This was a great story. I believe you wrote Arthur and Gilbert perfectly. Though it ended the way I did not expect it to it was truly a beautiful story. Awesome work!
