| Lamarquise chapter 14 . 6/21/2015 The plotting was good, but the focus is really on the Rogues and the story was tone deaf with respect to Luke and Mara. Luke is neither an idiot nor someone who doesn't take no for an answer. If he had been, if he hadn't had the patience of a saint to wait and accept until Mara chose her course, Mara would have blown him off and no relationship would have endured. The tension between them when they're supposedly best friends is never explained, as any prodding from Luke would have been nothing new. It certainly didn't seem like a very healthy relationship if they acted that childish and spent that much time arguing or avoiding each other. As for Mara, she came across as somewhat one-dimensional, either annoyed and irritable or enraged with short accents of embarrassment. Overall, it doesn't seem consistent with either character. |
