yeah... that writing style is not more mature than the original. At least I think I remember you less addressing the reader, which is frankly a rather childish technique and I find personally rather immersion breaking. I think it is wise not to promise updates you know you wont deliver, but outright stating you are not really invested in this kills my own enthusiasm. I get that you don't plan to write you life's work here, but there is a fine line between realism, being humble and self deprecating and coming over as lazy and annoying. Far too often I've seen the argument "this is just for fun!" used to ignore any and all criticism. If one does not want reasonable feedback, one should post in a community. Though of course flames should just die So I hope you take this not as personal insult, but rather well meant advise from someone, who has reviewed books and articles (scientific and fiction) both in their free time and professionally.
Could you benefit from a decent beta? Absolutely! Do you really need one? No not really. I personally like the concept and have yet to see it done in quiet this way. I thought a rewrite was not necessary and would have rather seen the original continued or at least left online with the re-write as a separate story, but this is your project and I can certainly understand the desire the change older stories, since my own sole published thing (here at least) is a pile of shit.

My only major complaint as I said is the tone (not the contents just the tone) of the AN and the frequent addressing the reader, though I acknowledge that last one is at least 60% personal taste. I think the time with the wolfs could use another look. The idea of Bella tuning into her wolf could have been far more fleshed out and contain interesting thoughts on her loss of humanity. Loss of speech after her turning back would have been cool and prolonged the chapter quiet a bit. Another could die would have been giving her more problems with eating and killing. So when she is later able to do both with no problems, the contrast would have shown how far she has come as a wolf, but how much she has lost of her humanity in return. Like a constant tug-of-war inside herself the wolf seemed to be winning till she came to Forks.

What I did find rather implausible was both Bella's and the wolfs knowledge of human names for the places she/they visit. I doubt travelling the wilds Bella would have come across a road sign stating she was now in Nunavut. Why not have the wolfs simply ask Bella to travel south with the pup? A happy coincident of even "destiny" would be far more plausible than some random sub arctic wolf knowing the human, modern, American name of the a small town they could never have been to.

A minor issue is of course the spelling. I've not seen the classic errors, but you tend to be rather random with capitalisation (like me here, but this is just a review, not a story). You also confuse things like "parish" instead of "perish" (damn autocorrect)

Ok this review has become far longer than I intended, but I hope you take it in the manner I intended it. Thanks for reviving the story in any case.

Take your time updating IRL is important too, so don't feel like you have to rush out updates.
