Reviews for Breath of an Elf
guest chapter 1 . 5/21
I know you wrote this story a while ago but I couldn’t help but leave a note. I want to start by saying that this is a lovely addition to -and it was done, a story I absolutely love. I stumbled upon yours and when I saw it was related to aiwd, I was very excited. You did not disappoint. I love how assertive but also gentle Aragorn is in his healing. I think you embodied his frustration and worry very well. I enjoyed seeing the Dúnedain as well, it was interesting to see Aragorn interact with these characters even through his concern and attentiveness to Legolas. I love your writing style and it was a beautiful story, well done :)
nimruzir chapter 1 . 1/7/2017
Beautifully written. It is an eloquently narrated story that is as harsh as it is believeable, and blissfully un-cliche, given the plot.

I wonder how it has escaped my attention all this time.

aja aron chapter 1 . 11/20/2013
Add me to those who have found this tale to be a favorite and a fun twist on continuing "And it was done." I enjoy Halbarad and loved how you wrote him here, as well as your original character of Durhith. The tonal exchanges, the mood and worry and affection - all clarified by skillful imagery - were well, well done. I liked the way you played with Aragorn's healing gift, extrapolating it a bit further from the way we see him call Faramir in particular back from the darkness in his mind. The description of emotion and sensation that gave us Legolas's mind, too, was excellent.

I was craving more hurt comfort from AIWD, this was perfect. I love the relationship/love/friendship you portray as much as the first story, truly excellent in the details.

Effie17 chapter 1 . 8/30/2011
Wow, awesome story, can you recommend more like it?
The Nameless Stranger chapter 1 . 8/11/2011
...*_* wow. This was a great read, that i think does justice to the canon lord of the rings. Of course, i don't like seing my favourite characters hurt...but the story was nice and sweet and kinda made up for that. Legolas' devotion was really remarkable..!

Another thing I want to point out is your writing style, that resembles the one of Tolkien, I think, and really fits to a fantasy story. (to tell the truth though, it was a bit difficult to read, for I did not know a lot of words used...english is not my mother language)

...is there a sequel maybe? :)

StarLight9 chapter 1 . 7/15/2011
I'm so happy you did this! I loved "...and it was done", it is a brilliant story, but just like you, when I finished reading it, I thought "so much hurt! it would be nice to see the comfort too!" And you did it so well! I loved the idea with the song, and how the story starts and ends with the breath of the elf.
leralonde chapter 1 . 7/14/2011
When you said you were doing something with 'and it was done' (though I had no idea what) reminded me of what a good story that was so I went back and read it again just for fun. So I was ready to jump into your story when it came. I haven't had much time to go onine lately so it was frustrating to not be able to read the whole thing at once. And now I have gotten back to it and read it again. There was so much that I didn't understand the first time through. Your writing is so rich, there is a lot to think about. I really loved it. Every step that was taken to take care of Legolas was beautifully written. I really enjoyed what you did with his song. You took Ziggy's idea and made it your own. Can I make a list of other stories that need your attention? That will keep you busy for many years. Thank you again. kiss kiss.
CocoaB chapter 1 . 7/10/2011
Wonderful story! I too wanted to see more of the original, to understand what had happened before and after the rescue and you have done a fantastic job on both counts. Your explanation of how Legolas could have been taken so easily was inventive and chilling. The conclusion left me with such a warm feeling - Aragorn accepting that Legolas thinking him worthy meant that he must be and that was enough to push him toward the destiny that he was struggling to embrace. I enjoyed this immensely - thank you!
