Good Work chapter 5 . 8/10/2011 Nice chapter, please update. “At least it would be a quiet day after all.” Boy is Mary wrong. But then again, it depends on how one looks at the situation. This could be the quietest it will be until things really definitely take more of a turn for the difficult to be forgotten nightmare that will be known in human memory for untold generations. “Everything happened in the blink of an eye.” That is how situations change sometimes. One minute tranquility and safety, then things begin slowly turn awful OR things rapidly disintegrate within mere days, weeks and all out disaster literally within very, very few months. “Steeping back from the glass she watched in horror as he crashed straight through the double-glazed partition. / He tripped over the low stoop and fell heavily to the floor, long slivers of glass sticking out of his body. Most of them, on their own, enough to stop an ordinary person. / He stood up.” That is what I noticed about the movie. A strong, immovable object literally blocking their way is one of the best barriers between the zombied and the un-zombied. “Her heart chose that moment to stop in her chest.” Wow, Marlene must have been born under several luck starts. No doubt many more uninfected people will die from heart attacks, strokes, shocks, accidents, etceteras as they try to flee to safety. |
