Oh gosh. I don't know if it's just that it's the middle of the night and I should be asleep, or if I just love this that much, but I bawled my way through this. I guess I just love Dean's makeshift little family and obviously your story is awesome or as close to it as possible.

Oh, and I totally get the whole Australian person using 'mom' thing. The word sounds different so if you're writing from an American person's point of view it just makes sense, even if you keep the extra Us and whatnot.

I usually don't like Lisa, and I kinda still don't, but Ben is absolutely adorable.

This was really great! It was interesting to read (I've never read anything like this before) and I liked your characterisation of Ben; it made perfect sense that he would be feeling that way and it was cool how you led it to Ben calling Dean.

I had a grin on my face during the parts where Ben and the Doc had stilted conversations - I especially loved the lines about him pulling faces he had learnt from Dean - but tears came to my eyes when Ben reflected about Dean and how the Doc was NOT him. I really liked the memories about the maths test and how they stole each others food in the restaurant.

I'm from Australia too and I've seen the rest of the season. I read on your profile that you're having internet problems, but if you can you should go to " ". It has every episode of every season. If you do use the site, when choosing what link to watch the episode on I recommend either Megavideo or Videobb (that makes sense when you actually use the site) - I find that they're the easiest to watch with and don't take too long to download. Of course, I'm assuming you have broadband so it will take longer if you have dial-up.

Again, great work on the story, very believable.

You really captured Ben well here - all the thoughts and opinions of a growing boy/teen, somewhere between stubbornly whiny and naively innocent. I loved the backstory with the dress - how sweet!

Very nice job! (This comes from someone who's seen some things you haven't, yet.) Loved Ben's fierce loyalty, thought you nailed the sullen attitude, and really appreciated that you spelled it "Mom"! Your Ben's a very mature little boy (I'm not arguing) to recognize that Lisa possibly intentionally chose someone very unlike Dean-great awareness, there. And, oh, the dress-poor Ben, to have a wonderful memory besmirched by his mom that way!

Really a nice little story. I always enjoy Ben and Dean interaction, so Ben's thoughts on anti-Dean was interesting to read.

One thing: you will see in a later episode that Doctor is in fact black, so not the surfer type...
