Awww, this was so sweet. I loved it so much that I read it over a few times. I adore the way you conveyed Fenris, his thoughts and feelings, and how he's grown through the years. He's exactly how I would imagine him to be after DA2 if he's still in love with Hawke - loyal, protective, deeply devoted to her, and vigilant to the very end. I absolutely loved this bit quoted below. It was so perfect:

"It didn't matter, because she had shown him that there were some things worth fighting for. While he didn't believe in her particular cause, he did believe in her. So, he would fight for her. He'd fight until he died, and then, Maker willing, he'd get up and keep right on fighting. He'd never leave her alone again."

A nice, fluffy piece. The only thing I questioned was Hawke losing a kidney... you have to live a pretty low-key, sedate life with only one kidney, meaning not much physical activity.

It would be a good challenge fic, though... Hawke loses a kidney fighting the Arishok and has to deal with the fact that s/he can't keep up with the gang anymore.
