Right now I am watching Once Upon A Time, it what you said about fiction reminded me so much of it because of the fiction-element. I am so sorry for your loss, I wish there was some way to help. I lost my Aunt Nancy after I saw Up from Pixar, and I was heartbroken because, when I saw her, she reminded me of the old woman. I prayed to God, saying "No, NO! Don't let this happen!" Yet, it did.
