This was sooooo beautiful and bittersweet. I cried!

Wait! So he gave her up because he took her back to Amy and Rory before she was supposed to find them as Mels. Oh that is so bad, she begged him not to change a thing and he failed her just like he did leaving her in the library stuck in a fake world that would never make her happy. The Doctor is a coward, River deserved better.

Oh wow, this is lovely! I wouldn't have minded if it had got a little more x-rated... but this comes across as innocent, just as the Doctor does. Well done! :)

That was so hard to read because it changed so drastically half way. I sound demented but maybe I am. Contiue on reading quest.

That was exactly the same emotion that I got during the scene at the end of Day of the Moon. Which makes sense, because this was the Doctor's side of the exact same thing. But it's still SO SAD. Not to mention that this was a bit more in-depth than River's sad look and single line. (Of course, Alex Kingston can do things with a sad look and one line that I've never seen before, so...)

My one criticism is about the fact that the prose was all squished into blocky paragraphs. It makes it slightly harder to follow, because you have to sort out which line you're on the whole time you're reading it.

But really, apart from that it was amazing. Mindblowingly poignant and so very bittersweet. Perfectly the essence of River and the Doctor. Brilliant job. :]

I normally hate reading angst because it makes me so sad and this made me feel positively :( but in a good way, as I read this I got so pulled into the story and I honestly felt like it was happening. Really, really good job!

it made me cry too... as much as I cried when I watched "The silent forest"... I really do hope they can save each other... but I know it cant be. So I'm crying some more. I'm not usually the kind of person who cries at this sort of thing, books, films, whatever, but for their doomed lovestory I did, and I do. I love your story, there's everything that's them in there...! ')

I love this! Lots and lots and lots! You use such awesome language to describe how the Doctor rations his kisses. I love your idea for this that it would so be the Doctor to ration himself until the end when he had to say goodbye. Nearly made me cry too!
