Those torture scenes were absolutely brutal to read. Couldn’t get through it in one sitting. I had to stop and come back.

This was beautiful! And the ending was so elegant. This is officially one of my top favourite Eric and Charles stories

The best part of this is easily the bit after Shaw is dead, when Erik gives Charles a hug. Because that whole thing was made of win. One tiny nitpick there, though: Charles says, '"I'm not wearing pants!"' I think Charles is a little too British to say that. In the UK "pants" means underwear. Charles would doubtless call them "trousers," after having lived several years in England, if he hadn't already been calling them that as a child. I know my dad was born in and has lived every day of his life in Canada, and he's always called them "trousers," never "pants." Other than the hug itself, I also really love the very end of that section, because of course he'd help Charles get his trousers back on. :)

Oh my gosh. This chapter is so much better than the first one, and that one was pretty amazing. But, wow. I love love love Erik here. And Charles. Of course I love Erik and Charles, but I especially love how you write them. Erik if freaking awesome and badass. And Charles is so kind and caring and heroic all at the same time. Gah. Beautiful.

Ouch! If feel so sorry for Charles here. :( You're writing Shaw brilliantly, by the way - so very much in character. I've seen other fics floating around with the idea that Shaw kidnaps and tortures Charles, but this is the first one that convinced me to actually read it (primarily, I'll admit, because I have been reading and enjoying your other fic, "Utopia").
