AteanaLenn chapter 5 . 6/25/2018 this is a fascinating idea, I love the premise! |
Tail-chan chapter 5 . 2/1/2018 more. moRE. MORE! MORE! |
DashOfPeppers chapter 5 . 7/12/2016 Out of all the descriptions I've read of Desmond, somehow feeling more impatient when the writer doesn't seem to get one thing RIGHT about Desmond, you seem to fill in the gaps. It's amazing. I've never envisioned Desmond with such CLARITY as you've portrayed, and it's amazing how you've managed to tie in the effects of the Animus on him. Everything feels right; how he hallucinates, how he can't tell between hallucination and reality, and how the group reacts to every action he makes. You can feel the closeness of them, as well as the friendly bond between Malik and Altair. How Malik struggles to find the line between Altair and Desmond with every way Desmond speaks and moves. Through Malik's eyes, the reader realizes Desmond is merging with his ancestors' memories, albeit unintentional, and everyone can SEE it. I love this story. I love it so bloody much. |
Guest chapter 5 . 5/15/2016 I can't actually express how much I enjoy reading this story. It is undoubtedly one of my favourites, and I always end up coming back to it eventually, whenever my fascination with AC comes back to me. I particularly love chapter 5 for numerous reasons. I think you capture who Desmond is in a beautiful way, especially when you describe him as being made from the fragments of his ancestors - because it is so true. He is, in my opinion, one of the saddest characters from a game I know, just because of what the animus has done to him. And I love how you, in such a simple way, show the damage that's been done to him. One of the things that just makes this fanfic even better is that it's from Malik's point of view. I love how you make him constantly compare the similarities between Altaïr and Desmond, and then have him catch himself when he remembers that they aren't actually the same person. I think it's more meaningful this way because you have someone who is exceptionally close to Altaïr (and who therefore knows him and his mannerisms quite intimately) meeting someone who is essentially channelling Altaïr unknowingly (I mean, that whole bit when Malik was comparing the way Desmond spoke to how Altaïr spoke was masterfully done). It's just something that really sets this story apart for me. Another I loved about chapter 5 in particular was the running section, and the shifts between Desmond, Altaïr and Ezio that occur. I find a lot of stories I read sometimes make Desmond very wimpy, or annoyingly incompetent. I know that before he was kidnapped that Desmond was a runaway and never completed his training, but what I love about this is how you show how significantly Desmond's ancestors have blended into him and altered his personality. I just absolutely love this fanfic due to how succinctly and efficiently it's written, and how it lays out a well developed interpretation of how the Bleeding Effect works. Brilliant. |
AmusedPerson chapter 5 . 3/2/2015 This is a very good time travel fic. I love how you portray Desmond and how he is three people. I'm sad that you likely won't be updating again, but it was an enjoyable ride and for that I thank you. Be well, dear author. |
budchick chapter 5 . 8/29/2014 This is pretty pretty pretty oh gosh my heart 3! My favourite bit was that part where Desmond's smiling at Malik and asking if he wants to go for a run, and Malik forgets himself, and it's like 'yes Malik, I know you miss Altair!' Last updated in 2011. I feel slightly rueful but it was just perfect. |
AnnAisu chapter 5 . 2/13/2014 Aww...this is adorable. I love the end. I guess it's been a little to long to beg for more? |
Gola chapter 5 . 1/16/2014 Please write more of this story. I love it so much, and it's really good :) |
Von chapter 3 . 12/2/2013 I looove this story! I hope you continue it some day! I also hope you write more with Desmond and company, seeing as how Ubisoft let us down so hard. Your character interactions for that lot are just fantastic. Your Desmond and Shaun crack me up. |
kimberly kim chapter 5 . 5/27/2013 Loved it ;) |
fukkafyla chapter 5 . 3/8/2013 Hnng even though this hasn't updated in a long while I gotta tell you I've been fantasizing about finding a story exactly like this, thanks for delivering me something to at least build on in my head and hopefully you'll find yourself in a weird mood one day soon and decide to finish thisl |
Verde Rosso Oro chapter 2 . 11/26/2012 "And Malik's not blind. He can see it for himself; four Assassins in a ruined sanctuary with resources so thin they can barely acknowledge that he, someone from hundreds of years ago, is here. It's not apathy or indifference—it's just that they are too busy and too desperate for something Malik doesn't know about or understand." I've read the whole story but this is one of my favourite lines. Other stories show Altair coming to the future and everyone is so focused on that. However the situation their in doesn't really allow for that kind of distraction. This is a wonderful story. |
BlackRitual chapter 5 . 11/17/2012 Oh my god this is perfect and everything that I want from an AC time travel fic. I love love love Malik noticing the differences/similarities between Desmond and Altair! 333 It's so cool, and really thought-provoking. Everything seemed totally believable. I'd love to see more of this fic if you ever return to it. |
