Wow, amazing. This is a painful loss of innocence, to see Eirika go from loving red clothes and red roses to eventually hating red because of its link to war. I especially love the very last line. Good work.

I really like color studies like this, and I feel that red was a very appropriate choice for Eirika. You managed to capture the awful emotions she was experiencing in her first battle - not only that people were dying, but by her hand. The connection of red to her clothes and Seth was well done also. It showed the contrast between the good and the bad that still had the similarity of color. Nice work.

I really like your take on Eirika's character here, and the way the red represents her loss of innocence.

This is astounding, and so realistic. I know if I were in a battle for the first time I'd be feeling the exact same things. I was especially impressed with the part where Eirika sees her brother in the place of the soldier she killed.

I did see this back in June (and I'm NOT just reviewing this because you've reviewed my story "SoulSearching") so I thought I'd drop off a note sometime, and it just happened to be now.

The comparisions of blood and the other (red) items in Eirika's life is really quite nice. It capitivates how 'red' revolves around her so much in her life, and it also captures how uneasy she is to see the blood which is also red, which is quite wonderful.

I just love the way that Eirika swears she'll never wear red again. It really shows and defines just how disgusted she is about it in my point of view.

Oh, and guessing from your profile... you're a Sacred Stones writer, right?

You've managed to capture quite a lot of details, which, for a drabble, make this one piece of yours stand out. There's also quite a realistic touch on Eirika's reactions during battles. The tension, the effect of seeing blood on her... really, no doubt any other person who've never fought before would feel the same thing.

And somehow, you've made Eirika show a little bit more personality than what I already saw in the game itself. Made her seem much more human than before. And I guess, you've made me rethink my opinions on her~

There's hardly anything here that I could nitpick. It's really well done. Keep it up!

This was fantastic. So much in such a little piece! I'm really glad I've finished FE8 so I can read fic now. :D I think you build tension really nicely in this one; it would be easy for something of such varying subject matter to fall into Mood Whiplash, but you wrote it very well.
