Wow Ali that was terrific! What a great idea that they can only sleep when they're together! I can totally see Kate thinking like this-resisting being "confined" by someone and yet in spite of herself, physically needing that sleep. It was also nice to pretty much ignore the whole "Sawyer question"-although I picture that being more of a stumbling block, as well as Jack's responsibility complex. I like the idea that only Kate can get him to rest, though, and it's nice to see that Season 1 playfulness, especially seeing Jack flirting back with her-there was not enough of that on the show! Really poetic and real the way you described them in a half-awake, half-asleep state too. It's funny, but my video feels like a companion piece to your story.

Ali, what a fantastic end to a hilarious, yet evocative fic. I couldn't stop reading the sex scene. I just couldn't take my eyes off of it. How you initiate the very idea that they have sex with Kate telling Jack that she can't sleep without him, but that she can feel his obvious arousal, and Jack being so embarrassed about said arousal, and finding a solution in finally just sleeping together in every biblical sense imaginable. Everything, their emotions, their actions, the way you mapped out their thoughts, I absolutely loved it.

THIS: "We're going to be in a bed, Jack…for the rest of our lives." My favorite line of the entire chapter.

Jack and Kate's adventures with sleep after those pivotal moments on the Searcher were well done as well. It's nice to know that they have a large bed in whatever place they all created together. I wouldn't have it any other way!

And thanks for your efforts to keep Jate alive. I've been trying to do the same thing. I am so happy to know that I'm not alone in my Jate obsession, even a year after it was all said and done.
