Wow. I was hesitant to start this at first, but I’m so glad I did. The writing is brilliant and the world you’ve created - a sort of Sonic x spinoff - is absolutely stunning. I love it. I believe I’m right when I say you have a sequel to this, and I can’t wait to read it! If I’m mistaken, you should totally do a sequel. The plot is intriguing and the character interactions are great. It’s like 2am rn so if I don’t sound as sincere I apologize. I absolutely loved your story and can’t wait to see if there’s more! You soooo should have written Sonic X and Shadow. And Adventure. Or any of the more serious based Sonic stuff.

Boy. Talk about dated, I'm imagining a flip phone in my head. This is suuuuper before Boom. I forgot how enjoyable it is to read your writing style. Your take on perspective is really something even I can't get down right. And for such an early work to be of such good quality. Digging through old favorites reminds me of how early fanfics left a lot to be desired. But this one is still impressive and aged like the finest of wine. I think aside from like 1 or 2 typos and lore updates, this could re-posted today and would still shine.

Awesome work, really imaginative ideas, and Alan was a great oc.

Hey, I’m back finally! XD

Ah, Angel Island. I wonder how big it is really supposed to be. When I remember back to Sonic 3 & Knuckles, I always imagined it was as big as Hawai’i. Even after its tiny appearance in Sonic Adventure, which I mentally tuned out as a game limitation. Guess Alan is getting that same sense of wonder I got in S3/K.

…And Alan gets attacked immediately. I also have to wonder *why* mobians are reacting so hostile to him, because the explanation that “well, he’s a human like Eggman!” doesn’t really hold water. First, as horrible and destructive as he’s been, it just seems absurd to assume a new arrival like Alan would be identical in character as Eggman or Snively. And second, neither Robotnik looks particularly human, unless you have them look more realistic like Eggman does in Sonic ’06. In all other works he only looks vaguely human, like he got a bad case of radiation poisoning and physically mutated. A healthy, realistic-looking human like Alan would stand in stark contrast to the mutated, cartoony proportions Eggman has. In my mind, the mobians would find them as similar as a gorilla and a chimpanzee.

I’m impressed Alan dodged that first swing—either he was better reflexes than I imagined, or Knux was so angry he couldn’t see straight. That was some quick thinking by Sonic to mention the seventh emerald. It kinda annoys me when Sonic is depicted as a total dumbass just because he has little patience for technical details.

I liked the long discussion after getting back. Interesting how Alan was a soldier before, and how Sonic & Tails weren’t alarmed by the admission that he’s killed before. I enjoyed the additional world-building, too. Alan plans to use himself as bait to get Eggman’s attention? Nope, nothing can possibly go wrong there! XD

I loved this story! Heck, it's probably in my top 5, or maybe even top 3 Sonic fanfics. (Considering how many I read, that's quite a compliment.)

So... on your profile, you requested reviews and/or constructive criticism, so I suppose I'll give that now (even though I was intending just to review the final one, rather than this one. Ah, well). The only thing that I noticed was that in one of the first chapters, when Sonic and Alan first met, Sonic asked about why Alan was shooting at the emerald earlier, and Alan said it was what'd sent him there, so he thought shooting at it some more would send him back. I mean, there's nothing wrong with that in itself- it's just that Sonic hadn't said he'd been following him yet, so what could've happened is that Alan would say that, pause, and then been getting suspicious and be all like, "Wait, how did you KNOW about that?"

Other than that, I really haven't noticed anything in particular that needed improving. So, great job! I'll start reading the second one, now. :P

It seems the human had a better night’s rest of the Mobian-sized bed than I thought he would! So Sonic & Tails are out, but the Tornado is still there. And of course the handwriting is in English. Heh, of course it was Sonic’s note to stay put that convinced Alan to follow. Silly hedgehog, don’t you know reverse psychology? (XD)

I’m curious, did Alan only have a soft armor (eg, Kevlar) vest, or did he have hard plates (eg, ceramic) as well? Soft armor is light and flexible, but can only stop flak/shrapnel and small caliber pistol rounds, whereas hard plates can stop high-power rifle rounds and shotgun slugs, too (depending on its rating, of course). Alan’s concern over his encumbrance just brought the question to mind, is all.

First battle! Heh, I loved Sonic’s one-liner about Eggman needing a one-liner generator! (XD) Nice detailed battle sequence overall, though I felt it was a bit too wordy in explaining to the reader Sonic & Tails’ powers, which should be familiar enough to most anyone who reads this story. Anyway, minor issue.

Alan to the rescue! He may have been late to the party, but at least he saved them from Eggman’s sneak attack. Hmm, so the attack on the village was just a ruse. Well, Alan’s gonna get to see Knux sooner than expected! Let’s hope he doesn’t get punched into chunky paste on first sight. (XD)

Hmm, more info on Mobius. Only a few large nation-states, and small communities everywhere else. Goes a long way to explain how Robotnik has been so successful.

So Tails has a crippling fear of strangers. Not too surprising, given he’s likely still at the stage where he hides in Sonic’s shadow all the time. But, wow, he took Alan’s presence badly. I guess when the only other human you have data on is a dangerous psychopath, you might be inclined to overreact. Poor Tails.

At least the boy snaps himself out of it after Alan introduces himself. And then breaks Alan’s brain by flying (XD).

Carnivore Confusion! Heh, at least Alan got something to eat. It’s funny that Alan was actually confused where their meat came from. I’m glad Alan and Tails got to talk, and the fox boy open up a bit. We love giving Tails horrible, emotionally scarring backstories, don’t we? (XD)

At least Tails doesn’t seem afraid of the human any longer, or nearly as much, anyway. And Tails promise to get him back home was really heartwarming! D

Good chapter overall. I liked Alan’s trouble squeezing himself into Mobian doors and rooms. That bed couldn’t be conformable! (XD)

Watch out for that tree! (XD) So, Sonic gets his morning run interrupted by an unexpected arrival. A human! Dun dun duuun. OK, shooting the chaos emerald was funny. I guess he has reasons to be mad at it?

So, we get the human’s perspective now. Alan sure found himself in a mess quick, didn’t he? Funny how he lampshades the Mobians’ perfectly accented American English (XD). Good thing Sonic intervened, or else Alan might have been dogburger.

Beatings and conflagrations! No, wait… greetings and salutations! At least Sonic is still Way Past Cool, and calm and levelheaded in introducing himself to Alan. The human himself is taking all this remarkably well, considering he was nearly hacked to death by miniature furries! Huh… so Sonic has only seen six of the seven emeralds thus far… does this story take place before the events of Sonic 2? That would be an interesting twist. Though, Sonic’s reference to fighting Robotnik for 10 years more suggests Sat AM or Archie continuities… or a blending of them and the games.

So, a budding friendship in the works, and now they’re off to see Tails.

Hmm, an ominous opening. I can only wonder what this other human wants, or wanted, but putting a bullet through Robotnik’s brain seemed to be his consolation prize. Of course, somehow I doubt Sonic let this other man kill him, but I’ve been surprised before. Onward! D

Nicely done story.I always wondered what Mobius's form of law enforcement would be and just basic questions like Alan would they deal with a human in Mobius? Since they are so few there thanks to Robotnik.
The story makes me stop and think which is good.I like these kind of stories sometimes.
