Wow... just wow. You have written an amazing, original story!

That twist on Endgame was great! Thank goodness Kathryn took her moment to act and not regret at the end! LOVED Amelia :) And it was great seeing Tom's growth and maturity

Had to review Chapter 7, because I reviewed this story 7 years ago!

I really liked this. There aren't enough stories out there where we get to see Paris in command. I especially liked the brig scene, which because of the timing seemed like it was going to be similar to canon but then turned out very differently.

I'm so glad that the timeline was changed by the Admiral and that Tom and Kathryn can finally be happy. Lovely story.

I really liked the premise of this story, of Tom Paris as first officer. I enjoyed all of the vignettes. But, I would really love to see an extended story written in a more standard narrative format. Maybe focusing more on the initial adjustment time period?

I don't really like Kathryn and Tom as a couple, but you did it in such a beautiful way and that was such a well writen story, that I found myself actually enjoying reading it. Good job. Really good job.

ps: Loved the idea of a puppy on board Voyager. Simply loved it

I could have picked many lines for this review, such is my love for your perceptiveness and your ability to express the hesitation that makes cowards of us all at times, and in particular in matters of the human heart. But here's the one that expresses both that hesitation, and the Kathryn Janeway as you have so brilliantly drawn her in this story: "She needed to know the consequences of her decisions." Sometimes you have to just leap, without knowing whether there's a refreshing crystal clear lake, a funky trampoline or hard dirt waiting at the bottom. You have to be prepared to fall, if you want to be lifted.

Oh, wow... I'm loving this, and your other fics. You write both Paris and Janeway so well; the tone is spot-on. It always brightens my day when I see you've posted another chapter. :)

Okay, so I am a die hard J/C shipper. But this story so sold me on J/P that I was totally rooting for them in the last few chapters. You portrayed what they would have been like if Tom had had to take over as first officer so well. WOW! LOVED IT!

So, as previously stated, I prefer Tom and B'Elanna, because it's canon, it works for me, and I never quite understood the sentiment that Kathyrn Janeway just inspired everyone to fall in love with her.

That disclaimed, I do enjoy how you've handled this chapter in particular. You made the admiral's revelations every so much more compelling (and consistent!) than they actually were in Endgame, which I appreciated. This was very cohesively done, with logical leaps (I appreciated the chapter-per-season in a way I never have before) and a strong narrative. It's certainly the closest I've ever been to buying Tom/Janeway, and that's saying something.

An excellent, intriguing story. You've changed everything just enough to keep it interesting and moved it along at a decent enough clip for it to work. I'll confess that I still wanted (want?) Tom and B'Elanna to work, because I am a hopeless romantic, but you've given more than enough to make that a tertiary point. The treatment of the relationship with Harry has been particularly subtly done.

I love having Amelia in the story. Also this was a great way of telling what happened on Quarra without retelling the whole thing. It was really nice having Tom get Kathryn to talk about Jaffen. Very sweet! Thanks for writing!
