I really like how you developed the characters of Candace and her (ex)boyfriend.

I was really surprised at how Tilly turned out in the series; it was a shame. I kind of blame Kate for not giving her the guidance she needed growing up; even if Kate was part elf, I felt that she was raised human and should have tried harder to bear the unpleasantness of raising an unruly child and been there for her adoptive daughter. Pity.
Oh, and I know the feeling Alice has of being used to being ignored by people because of her much prettier friend. Story of my life!

THANK GOODNESS! I HATED Candace! I kept thinking, they want to marry this demanding, bratty, selfish girl...? Even in the beginning she was complaining about how she 'deserved' a fancy vacation from her parents. Then she was rude to the people at the hotel. Then you mentioned how she treated Alice, who had been more respectful to the workers at the hotel. You're a genius, I didn't suspect what would happen until I was well into this chapter; I read a LOT, so I am not often surprised by plot twists. Very well done, indeed!

Felt the need to reread this story as I enjoyed it so much the first time. I really love how you write your characters and their relationships, especially Marak and Inanna. They're just precious together. Nir and Alice are definitely working toward that level of preciousness. I just love all the characters. Haha. Thank you for sharing this story!

The twist in this chapter actually made me gasp! This is so interesting.

I was rather appalled when the Goblin King hinted at killing Alice as an option for Nir to resolve his problem. I know goblins are practical, but Marak Sixfinger didn't kill his first wife, unhinged as she was. And Alice is completely sane. Though, I also realize that personalities also range from person to person... but still.

I think Nir is a bit delusional about the whole great love to rival his parents' thing. Juuust a teensy bit.

Eresha is gutsy for throwing rocks at the Goblin King. She's definitely not your usual timid elf.

I really like the friendship between the Goblin and Elf Kings. Their sarcastic conversations are always so much fun to read, too.

The Goblin King pumping his arm into the air like a little kid was very silly. It was a cute scene, and reminded me of Thaydar acting like a big goof around Irina.

I have to go back and reread all the HK books now thanks to all your references back to the original material. That won't be good for my-already bad-study habits.

Great ending! Repeated sentiments from last review. Funny about Nir trying to eat spaghetti, although what would be funnier is the elves not being able to handle spicy foods, since they usually eat bland, unseasoned meat. I also like the elves vanity coming into play with the portraits.

I am excited for After, actually. I'm guessing one of the other characters is the guy Alice was buying the elf figurine for? I hope Alex gets a goblin husband in After, but if you must, I guess I can handle an elf. ;)

I'm glad Alice and Nir didn't fall automatically in love and they're still adjusting to each other and their different cultures. Adjusting to different cultures was one of my favorite things about the sereis.

"The first month had been the only and she had since been spending all of her time in the library, reading up on goblin history. Ever since the night she had arrived, she would go out of her way to avoid Inanna and the other goblins."

I'm guessing Eresha's busy planning her revenge for the next story by mastering the new culture she's now in. Has she married yet or is she planning to wait the whole year?

Well, that's pretty good ending. But I certainly didn't see that coming, with Eresha leaving the elves. I did get a horror movie vibe at the end there, with Eresha's not-so-last words. Over all you've done a really great job with this story. It was well written, it had all the necessary elements for a good plot, and most importantly, you finished it. That's a lot more than most people can do. Congrats!

Alice standing up for herself was really nice. She's finally growing some backbone :)

Eresha going to the goblin kingdom was an interesting twist. Can't wait to see what she has planned.
