Guest chapter 4 . 4/24/2019 Meus parabéns. Amei sua história |
vballr217 chapter 3 . 5/16/2018 I also LOVED the store trip. It was always lost on me how Zola's spina bifida was, essentially, healed and never spoken of again. I think it would have been interesting to see how two surgeons deal with the realities of having a child with an illness. We saw a glimpse of that when she was brought back in the hospital, but barely anything after that. I love that you explored that. Also, I loved the line where Meredith says Derek should pick up take-out because Janet will take Zola back if she tastes Mer's cooking. I found it so funny and so Mer! And the 'conversation' between Meredith and Zola was so sweet. I love Meredith's journey to becoming a mother. It also led into the conversation between Derek and Meredith which I found to be so necessary. Good for Meredith for, again, reiterating her desire to be a good surgeon and good mom! |
vballr217 chapter 2 . 5/16/2018 Okay. The entire Meredith and Derek fight scene...gold. Pure gold! Although I loved the scene that was in the show, I loved that you got to the core of the issue: Derek's worries about Meredith getting Alzheimer's and Meredith truly believing she did the right thing. Although it was passively discussed between the two of them on the show, I love that you just went for it and it worked really, really well. I also LOVED the shopping trip! So freaking cute. |

Aisucold chapter 4 . 6/28/2013 great realistic story |
CileSuns92 chapter 1 . 1/27/2013 First of all, I read this before, but I just made the connection with the song. Sad, I know, but it gives a whole different perspective now! I loved the way you handled this, being realistic about the job and the spina bifida. I loved how Meredith didn't became immediately Zola's mother, but it was like she asked permission to be one. It was heartbreaking to see how much she has sacrificed for her and how much crap they had to work through as a couple. It must not be easy in general to adopt a baby, or even have one, but it seems to me that Zola was more like the missing puzzle piece. It was very MerDer centric, but you still didn't forget about alex or Cristina and I'm glad they had their little corner in your story. I loved Zola in this. How the biggest things happened during normal days, how she simply brightened their days with her laugh or how well she seemed to fit in Meredith's arms. It was very realistic and for this, kudos. It's hard to balance a realistic story. And the ending, simply perfect, I could just imagine Dereka and Zola on their front porch waving goodbye. Can't wait to read more of your stuff! |
KiwiBeez chapter 4 . 11/20/2012 This is really spectacular. I like the realism. I appreciate the realistic analysis of the faults in the design of the clinical trial (even if they were only briefly mentioned). I especially like that Meredith had real consequences for her decisions. Bravo! |
Daisy250 chapter 4 . 9/7/2011 Finally, Ive found my quiet hours ;) Its been a long time and I felt the need to re-read the first three chapters - it was a real pleasure to read everything at a stretch. It feels complete and perfect now. Its sad that they wont be working together anymore, but its realistic. Her birthday-morning was so sweet. Your "McFamily" is adorable, I enjoyed how they worked everything out together and that their problems not just faded away miraculously (same with Cristina-Meredith or Alex-Meredith). This would be the perfect S8 for me and then they "could ride together happily into the sunset" :) We all know thats not going to happen and Im sure my MerDer-heart will be broken again as soon as the show starts, but it doesnt matter as long as there are talented writers like you who gives us amazing fics like that. Thank you for sharing this story! I hope Ill find time for "DYEGW" soon, too, I cant wait for more! |
Anna chapter 4 . 9/4/2011 Wow, I was so moved by your story, as always. Shonda should read this - great story line for season 8. More power:) |
SingCindyLouSing chapter 4 . 8/21/2011 Soooo very sad this is over. I would read your Mer/Zola fic every day if you had time to write it! My heart melted when Zola called her mama for the 1st time & when she walked. Love mama Mer. She's so attentive, caring, involved, and natural. Was really sad, but not at all surprised, when she was fired. Hope she learns from this fiasco, really do. Nice of Derek to make that phone call. Mer isn't a bad dr. or bad person. She just makes truly stupid decisions. Loved the exchange between her and Alex. I only hope Shonda can do that situation even HALF the justice. You really did a lovely job with that. I know you're super busy but anytime you get a free second, anything you can write for Mer/Zola would be greatly appreciated! You just have a rare gift for writing Mer. Thanks so very much for all your efforts in this little ficlet. I immensely enjoyed seeing Mer's journey into mommy-hood. Zola is a close 2nd to Emily as my fave Mer fic kidlet) Lol, I don't think anyone can ever outdo little Emily. I know that story by heart. Thanks again! Hope you don't disappear. Please consider sharing your talent w/ us soonish. Ficland is an abysmal hole right now. We need you. |
DakotaLady chapter 4 . 8/20/2011 You told an amazing account here of what might happen to our gal - our Meredith. Many of the themes you introduced could very easily happen to our beloved characters on the actual show. I hope Alex does 'come home'. I hope April fails at being chief resident and the powers that be will name Alex. He would be good ... Bailey trained and all. I really liked how Derek role played with Meredith for her pending interview. He really does love her almost to a fault. Thank you for sharing this with us. |
