I love this entire section. From Mione's well-placed suspicion to the absurdity of serenely enjoying a cuppa with the young Dark Lord and his fittingly condescending manner of speaking to her.

I adore the entire following dialogue regarding his outrage that Hermione's allowed to stay at Hogwarts when he isn't. It's the kind of temper tantrum that I find very reminiscent of his older self's outbursts and yet it's also quite heartbreaking due to the reason behind his desire to stay. Even though he already knows his aspirations of becoming the most notorious dark wizard in history will come true, in that particular moment, he'd still trade places with Hermione just because Hogwarts is the only place that has ever felt like home.

"'You get to stay in the castle,' he said quietly. 'I'm jealous of that.'"
This line makes my heart ache.

"'I can always escort you back to the tower, if you're scared.'"
Hmmmm... I'd let him escort me any time ;)

"[...] there was no way in hell he would be getting through that door.
The thought did not make her feel safer."
Typical Hermione not to let her guard down around him, which of course is very wise. But, oh, how exhilarating to be that close to darling Tom.

Damn you. That kissing scene was utter perfection.

"'Well,' he said, and his tone was quite reasonable. 'I took you to the ball, I danced with you, we kissed ... I've heard to really enjoy the company of women, one has to go quite a lot further than that.'
'Well, one won't be going any further with me!'"
This made me giggle, but also exasperated. It's exactly the kind of bullshit reasoning pathetic excuses of men employ to justify them being pushy and demanding with their dates. And considering he most likely heard all of that from his Knights of Walpurgis, it emphasises what a patriarchal, misogynistic society the (Wizarding) World is, especially during that era.

"'Women.'"
Arse.
