Oh wow, I didn't know I needed this. I read your most recent work and it sent me down a seemingly neverending - yet wonderful - tangent of all your works and while I liked all the ones I've read - hidden gems, if the amount of likes is any indication - this was particularly great. Rose needed this in canon; she needed to grow up and make her own decisions without being placated as the unnecessary companion. I've always found the automatic "companion is hopelessly in love with the oblivious Doctor" to be sort of cringe-y. It's why I initially had doubts when reading the Donna/Doctor pairing, since I've adored their "bro-mance." But you really made it work.
