out of every fanfiction i have ever read about aoshi and misao, none of them do as well as you do, when doing justice to the inner torture of aoshi, or the longing of Misao...i hope that you will continue your fanfics...

i certainly am not in a position to comment on the technicalities of aoshi's mindset. this lowly fic-reader only wishes to say that you have once more written a fantastic fic! the fact that i have read another one of your masterpieces makes me ecstatic!

I really love your fic, one of the VERY wonderfully written and so full of heart. *whispers* you don't know how many time I've cried escpecially the one where Misao says, "I don't know what love is anymore..." and the time when she gave herself in place of Aoshi's obsessed admirer (won't mention the name, gives me shivers). And also the time when Aoshi read Misao's diary... okay2x! So I cried a lot! Won't bother writing my whole experience here. Sure you don't wanna kno :p

Stunningly convoluted, indeed :) I like the window this story offers into Aoshi's mindset, though I found a few aspects disruptively distancing- the bump into present tense for the asylum descriptions; the possibility that the mad boy at the start might have in fact transferred some sort of psychotropic pathogen with the bite. (Though I don't think there's such a thing as chronic rabies, and mad-cow disease is right out.)

I'm not sure whether this vignette satisfactorily conveys the origins of Aoshi's state of mind, but imho it does provide a multidimensional and complex insight into what may've been going through his mind in his raid on the Oniwabanshu complex. And hey, everything is spelled right and there are words with more than two syllables, and that's always a bonus :)
