This was a very nice story that deals in an interesting and unusual way with the hazards of being one of the Doctor's Companions. Their exits aren't always "and they lived happily ever after" but Rory does a great job of showing that they made a difference while working with the Doctor and, quite often, beyond. I liked this ending and the loyalty the Rory and Amy show to their friend. Well done.

I've never actually read a Rory story. Well, with it being mainly him and the Doctor, and not Amy and the Doctor. So bravo! :)

Poor Jack, I never liked how the Doctor couldn't stand him when Jack had no control over becoming immortal. Besides, he would've been a companion that would never die on the Doctor.
I don't agree with Martha and Mickey though. Rose and Mickey wouldn't have lasted even without the Doctor. And Martha made her choices. Despite the pair the spares, they fit well together.
I had such hopes for Donna too. As for Rose and Ten-II, I still hope they fell in love.
Great job capturing what everyone thinks on their worst day before they remember the good times and why they loved/followed the Doctor in the first place, very impressive.
Rory was brilliant and fantastic! 333 He is right, the doctor is only one man and he's not perfect despite how much he wants to be. Rory did sum it up really well. I like how the Doctor shared all of his stories, his companions are all amazing and did amazing things even after they/he left.

Time Lord trick, would explain a lot actually. I like how Rory is honest and kind at the same time.

I came right from your one shot "Rough Day" to this one and I was not disappointed. The dialogue between characters and the things Rory notices about the Doctor as they try to cope with the damage the Dream Lord caused felt very canonical to me. If I had one criticism it would involve the halting dialogue, or rather the frequency with which it was used. It pulled me out of the flow of the narrative and reminded me a lot of Shatner from Star Trek TOS. I realize that is to an extent Rory's normal manner of speaking, but there were spots from him and other characters that interrupt the flow of the story. Perhaps that's just not my personal style. Either way, kudos on the character study. I think you did it some real justice.

I love how the Doctor treated Rory differently instead like he did to Mickey, I'm happy that he turned into a good man and I'm happy that he changed even though he did literally. I came back for more because I love this story. I dunno if 12th doctor personality

A Story for about Rory cared for the Doctor even though he kissed Amy, atleast Rory's better at this. And you showed Rory's careness towards the Doctor despite mostly he cared Amy, he showed his side to care for the Doctor

What a cute little story! I love the little interactions between the Doctor with his guard down and Rory being a proper nurse. I also thought the way you didn't describe the Doctor's bedroom was clever; it allows the reader to build his/her own version of what this room we've never seen would look like. Very nice work!
