Alex chapter 1 . 5/18/2011 "After picking them up, he said, "I guess I'm driving." He was left to follow the laughter coming from his teammates." Is kind of awkward (more the commas I think in the first sentence?) I think if it was it's own paragraph it would help, and maybe phrasing it like " "I guess I'm driving," he mumbled, left to follow the laughter coming from his teammates." " To me kind of captures how it goes in the show more. " "I came to NCIS around 5 years ago as Mossad's NCIS liaison officer. I also spent two years in the Israeli army." " It doesn't feel quite like Ziva's voice..? I think she'd be more precise with the date (no around) and would say "I have also spent..." instead. BUT HEY WHAT DO I KNOW ABOUT ZIVA'S VOICE. ""In other words," Tony interjected. "You don't want to get on her bad side." McGee finished" I think you want dashes after what Tony says then before McGee? It makes it look more like he was interrupted/finished the sentence. "Gibbs face didn't betray any emotion." This kinda seems unnecessary unless he was looking for a reaction? In which case put it in because that'd be interesting. ""I don't know," Gibbs replied, shrugging, "I have a very capable team back at the Yard. They might feel a little left out if we turn over everything to you. Then what would the point of a joint investigation be?"" This doesn't really feel like Gibbs' voice, maybe add italics or put 'sarcastically' somewhere? "At this Booth cringed, Gibbs smiled and Tony chose to butt in." I think "Gibbs forced a smile" works better? "At this, Tony looked a little puzzled, not sure how to reply. " Maybe make it "Tony looked puzzled at this, not sure how to reply." "She simply said "No," and turned to the body before adding "Only Booth is allowed to call me that." At this Booth smiled." You have "at this" again, and I think if you make the no italicizes and not in quotes or put it at the beginning of the sentence would get the point across better. ""So you got anything," Booth asked, "Bones?" He was sure to add at the end." Get rid of the last sentence! " "Booth decided to get a little defensive. "I don't know about you, but we have a big agency, we have a lot of people working for us, and we don't keep tabs on every person who decides to drop by." He said." " Put Booth's actions with his words. "At this Tony fidgeted uncomfortably and the rest of the team was silent." Awkwardly phrased but I don't really know how to fix it... Maybe try a different word than "fidget"? Also you say "at this" again, you can just get rid of it because it was just said, obviously he's reacting with that... Also make it it's own paragraph? |
