Holy gods, I actually feel sympathy and pity for Petunia and I feel like I can understand her character a bit more now then before.

I actually feel really sorry for Petunia after all these years she lost a sister , her parents and Harry was a reminder that she wasn't as perfect or pretty as Lily that she didn't have a perfect husband Like James and thats why she hated Harry because he reminded her that she will never be her sister or be perfect like she so desperately wanted to be.

This has a lot of really good insights, and I'm so glad you didn't make Petunia out to be a completely evil, self-absorbed bitch. It would be so easy to do that, and it's nice that you avoided it.
