Seems to be no real hints who Jon is at all... o.O
thebramabulll chapter 4 . 1/11/2017
This is so beautifully written, and the characterization of Lyanna in all of her queenly splendor is the best I've seen. I wish you'd update.
Heat in Freezing chapter 4 . 5/27/2015
I love this story, I would read so much more!
Belenor chapter 4 . 1/23/2015
I loved the way you wrote Lyanna. Many writers of Lyanna fics just take Arya's personality and slap Lyanna's name on but you made Lyanna her own person. It's interesting how open and upfront she is about her scheming, as if she lets the people she is using know exactly that she is using them but they can't help going along with her anyway due to her sheer charisma. Her motivations (guilt, self-loathing, and more than a touch of opportunism) were well-done. She is the quintessential anti-hero, doing the right things for the wrong reasons but she stays supremely likeable notheless.
I am sorry to see that this story has not been updated since 2011 - I think it has great potential.
Oil on Canvas chapter 4 . 1/1/2015
What happened for you to abandon this? Writters block?

Why did you put this under Robert B., Jon S when Lyanna apears to be the main character? Oh well, I like your characters, they seem well written and human enough.

If you plan to continue this whatsoever I'm looking foward to the trip to the Wall, the Lyanna/Jon/Tyrion are looking like they be interesting, though I can't picture Jon going south to Kings Landing, it's so unlike him.

Best regards.

So different! I love it! Keep it up ;)
tsevca chapter 2 . 4/30/2014
Lysas beauty? I know Jaime isnt the most objective person, but still...
You make Renly too evil. He never even suggested to kill Cerseis kids. He isnt cruel, hungry for power. His first reaction to Roberts death was that he and Ned should "arrest" Cersei and her children and govern in Joffreys name. In that situation, he wouldnt be king and obviously Ned would have the same, if not more, amount of power, but hed be admired as the one who saved the kingdom, people would flatter him and since Joffrey wouldnt be much seen, Ned isnt the type, hed get all the attention, be the beloved hero. Something hed never get with Joffrey or Stannis on the throne, so rather than being put aside, he decided that he could be king just as well. He doesnt want to be a politician, but a celebrity and celebrities dont kill children.
You make Jon much less capable politician than he clearly was. Arianne is the next ruling princess of Dorne. Itd be tricky thing to exclude her from line of succession. Considering that Doran would agree to give her to Roberts son despite their history, he wouldnt trust Robert with Dorne. Jon was the one trying to mend their relationships, hed know that. Hed also know better than to want Robert marry someone else if Lyanna lived. She was the face of the rebellion. The moment Rhaegar took her, it was definitely clear to every single person that, rape or with consent, Lyanna is virgin no more. And they died for her being brought back to her bethroted. That was the reason told to public, the reason, why he wasnt evil rebel hungry for crown, but romantic hero. If he didnt marry her, they died for liar, he did it for the crown. Itd be disastrous PR, Robert would lose so much needed public support and it could cost him everything and the others too. Ned and his bannermen would get away with it, he fought to save his sister and avenge injustice done to his family, Tullys might succeed with claiming they just stood by their kinsman (Ned), but Robert and Jon (he raised Robert after the death of his parents and got the most power after him) not.
Cersei talks too familiarly to Lyanna considering their positions.
Also why do Lannisters get everything? Squiring for the king, seat on the council (they didnt have it originally), Jaimes position in Kingsguard, their power... In books, they have it through Cersei being Roberts queen, it was a common thing, queens relative or countrymen (considering if shes foreignor or not) usually got many positions at court and administration. But I see no Northerner there and too many Lannisters.
tsevca chapter 1 . 4/27/2014
On one side, you make it as Lyanna can make Robert do so many things, but on the other he denies her basic courtesy and keeps around Jaime for example?
There are several things that you should work on:
Brienne at court and Margaery marrying Renly with Robert still alive? Tyrells were the only one who won a battle against Robert in the war and then humiliate his house with their siege of Storms End, where his brothers had to eat rats, while they feasted outside their walls. There is good reason why they kept away from court during his reign. Even the idea of Margaery marrying into the royal family during Roberts life, let alone marryng his heir, as was suggested, is unthinkable.
Maester Colemon would have nothing to do in Red Keep, maesters are assigned to castles, usually one to each and only the Grandmaester chosen by Citadel serves at the Red Keep.
Robert wouldnt have his bastards at court, he isnt Ned. Remember Edric, he acknowleged him, since his mother was noble, he had to, but didnt care at all. Man like Robert, he would see it as accusation from Lyanna. As shed try to tell him to look every day on his betrayals to her. He wouldnt take it.
And Obara wouldnt serve to Robert, no Martell would.
Silvercloaks seems to be female version of Goldcloaks. Why members the other can marry, but those of the first cant?
Lyanna and Cersei could never be friends. Cersei dreamed of Rhaegar, instead was refused in humiliating way and became lady-in-waiting of his wife, he then "left" her for Lyanna, not Cersei, and still it was Lyanna, who became the queen when Targaryens lost. Lyanna in this story would surely know about this and Elias murder being revenge for Cersei. She grieves her death and would be Cerseis friend?
Stannis isnt Robert. Any sign of Cerseis infidelity and he would publicky throw her out saying everyone what she did. I dont know what punishment for cheating wives GRRM chose from history, but there were things like public flogging, pillory, executions in case of royal couples... He wouldnt go with 4 bastard children claiming to be his. Nor would Jaime go with her sleeping with Robert. He couldnt do anything against sex with her husband, because she had to, but she wouldnt uphold sleeping with someone else.

I wish I could make a hardback of this. Again, fabulous work.
GalanthaDreams chapter 3 . 11/24/2013
You have an incredible way with words. When I read your description of the shadows of the crypt in Lyanna's dream, why, I went back and read it five more times! It felt incredibly rich, it fed my imagination, so much that I'm surprised the images didn't go leaking out of my eyes. Beautiful work.
oriberu chapter 4 . 9/13/2013
Thank you very much. Wonderful writing, especially in chapter 4, and an interesting setup for Arya, Lyanna and Jon. I love the dialogue - spoken and unspoken - between the three. This looks like it could be a long tale but it's simply too good not to be continued.
Patrick chapter 4 . 7/25/2013
