I enjoyed this story. A slightly different setting with very different circumstances, but a family in the end. As for the style, I really like the shortness of the chapters with gaps that are easily filled in by the reader. It is new to me and I like it! I realize this is long after your posting (your reference to the Joplin tornado reminded meI lived in St Louis at the time), but wanted to review anyway. Happy writing!

What a beautiful story. You really captured the emotiom in each scene and the blossoming love between Kenshin and Kaoru was so real and soft. Fantastic work.

I do not have adequate words to tell you how MUCH I loved this story. I usually stay away from drabbles for whatever reason, but am really glad to have decided on this one. So many emotions brought to the surface, all of my favorite characters and a wonderfully thoughtful and enjoyable story to boot. I liked how you put a twist on the arranged marriage thing, and how their relationship grew steadily. You did a phenomenal job. Now I'm off to read the sequel :-)

I love Kaoru and I dont hate Tomoe. But I believe, even without Tomoe, Kenshin will become a rurouni because he always has a gentle heart despite all that he had been through. He had chosen a path as rurouni not only for Tomoe, but for the lives he has taken in the name of the revolution. The incident with Tomoe is a tragic event that strengthen his will to atone for his sins, and stop killing.

Thanks for your story. Though there are some situations that are not in cannon (from my point of view, of course), I like it very much. Some bits are so beautiful and funny.
At the same time, I have to say that its sequel doesn't come up to this one, though I have read all of it (and it's incomplete!).

I just read the entire FIC, and it's great as awhile. However, the first line of the first chapter is, I think, the best of all. "Sold..." creates a picture that lingers in the mind superb.

This is fantastic! I absolutely love how Kaoru was portrayed here. Man she sure kicks butt! And KenxKao fluff was just right...I mean, not too much and not too less-just enough to make us squeal in delight! Haha! Kenshin's role as Sano and Katsu's "father" was both delightful and heart warming. I am now a fan of a fellow RK fan. :))
