I'd like to see the conclusion and...I'm really intrigued about that island and what happened to the crew. Did George got the captain's, I think it was the captain, head? XD Did the others survived? Is this a **** (not a bad word U).
Are you going to tell Raine to teach us the elves' language? Is Regal going to improve his skills?
I'll wait for it.

Finally read this chapter! This was so beautiful! Wait a minute, is that...romance I see. Been waiting for this since I started reading this. And it was well worth the wait. This is not a rush into things kind of story and I love that about it. It's so...It's just so very appropriate for Regal and Raine. I simply love how you've written these two. I have no idea where this story is going (I mean, will they ever get off the island?) and that's perfectly fine with me. It certainly gives you an excuse to focus in on them as opposed to including the rest of the ToS cast.

Just as I thought, a very interesting read. I think I'll finally take a break from reading your stories...but I'll be back for sure. Looking at the trend, it could be two months to a year before you update, but I'm pretty patient...and I've been guilty of not updating my stories for years on end so maybe this is my punishment.

Anyways, keep up the good work!

I haven't read all your fics, but this is definitely one of the best I've read so far. And there's certainly a marked improvement in your writing-word choice, sentence structure, voice, tone...everything. You're pretty much a pro at this kind of writing. Lucky me, I get to read all of it.

This is a really cute chapter. I love Amae, what a silly goose. And Regal sucking at languages is just super enjoyable. He calls Raine "my dear" and that was sickeningly sweet but my favorite part about it was that she didn't even flinch she just kind of...accepted it as a nice comment from him and fljdslfksdjaf!

Also, Raine laughing. Ahhh, this is so nice to see.

But I also like how this entire thing is sort of permeated by the fact that Genis and Presea and Lloyd and the others all think that Regal and Raine are...dead. That they're not coming back. They're mourning for their deaths and Raine is afraid to let go because God, that's her brother, and she doesn't want to forget about him, and she probably feels so much guilt for not being there for him and ughhh.

I've been waiting so long for an update on this fanfic! Sorry I've never introduced myself before, but I've read chapters 1-14 at least 3 times each because there's just so much content and nuance in your writing! I thought this fanfic was forgotten since I found it in early January and saw that it wasn't updated since August. But I am so happy that you are continuing the story! I love how detailed and intricate the story is so far, and how the events progress in perfect timing so that it doesn't feel rushed or dragged out. You are one of the most engaging writers I've ever found on , and I hope I will be able to enjoy more chapters from you!

Regal getting' all touchy-feely there in the first part is cute and funny at the same time. Man, you know if Raine wasn't so worn out she'd probably kick him in the face. (SHE IS A STRONG AND CAPABLE WOMAN. SHE DON'T NEED NO HUG!)

["Nothing else would hurt her as long as he lived."] I like this line because it shows us he's practically fallen for her already, but perhaps not in the way first assumed. I mean, I know you're heading toward a romantic love, and that is awesome, but I kinda look at it as part of Regal's own personal agenda (to protect the people he cares about) and part of his affection for her that might not be quite so platonic anymore (though I'm not sure if he realizes it or not, himself).

I have to admit, by the way, that the mental image of Regal tripping and dropping Raine was pretty hilarious. I thought it was kinda cute that he picked her up, but he wasn't getting emotional about it or anything; that came across very well.

Too, you did a nice job with Regal's thoughts in regards to their current state. I liked that the communication barrier comes into play; Raine really does need to rest by this point, and he needs to get across the fact that she needs dry clothes and a warm bed ASAP.

I wonder what Raine would find worse: Regal changing her clothes for her, or the elvish women. :P

["But all they ever wanted me to be was gone."] That's a strong line right there. Raine comes across very listless here, I think. Perfect considering her exhaustion.

Overall a good chapter! I can't wait for Regal's joys in learning a new language (hehehe), and in seeing Raine better adjusted to things. (BTW, instead of reposting a chapter that needs edited, you can just "replace" it to avoid losing reviews and sending out a new alert!)

That said, the only critique I really have is in regards to density. There were sections of this that were very densely written, thick with description, and I feel like you could cut back just a little on that and have something just a bit more concise. That is, of course, up to you. I still enjoyed reading it. :D Looking forward to another chapter when you have the time to write it. :D

[…What had he done?] I like that he thinks this but I feel bad for him. It's not really his fault that Raine's kind of lost it. I mean, he could have been nicer but I don't think it would have given him any answers to be that way. Besides, a Raine who was well-rested and fed, and who had not nearly drowned recently, would have reacted quite differently.

[something he couldn't articulate that reminded him of the night they had first spoken in Palmacosta] Ohhohohoho.

[And it made his blood run cold.] Dude, yeah. Because you wouldn't even know what to do. I mean. It's hard enough to deal with a crying person, but someone like Raine? Ahhh.

[She had lived a life that would have driven the best and bravest of men to madness, yet she never appeared a tragedy.] I really like this line.

The end of this chapter was sweet. I feel bad for Raine but it's good that she get some comfort now, before she can close herself up and hurt herself further. At least, I think so. The line about it being easy to take her for granted was really nice, too, now that I've had a moment to consider it. Everyone seems to take her for granted and not many people show her proper appreciation, least of all appreciation for always putting herself last. ;_;

Ahhh, what a place to stop. Raine really just needs to eat and sleep for a while so that she feels better, but it's so easy to see why she thinks as she does, poor dear. She just needs some food and a warm bed and then a hug.

I liked Raine's thoughts a lot in this. They felt...muddled and uncertain at times but the basic idea that she has of these elves and their culture is still the same. She's totally not being rational ahh.

I just want more and I will roll around anxiously until I get more. Curious to see where it goes next.

Ahhh this was so cute. I love this chapter. Personally, I think seeing things from Regal's POV is fascinating. And it makes Raine seem more mysterious because we don't know what she's even thinking, most of the time.

I liked the little bit more insight we get into her regarding her scar, especially from Regal's point of view, because it kind of gives us this idea that, well, she's a lot more afraid of things (in general) than she lets on. ..and it seems to be a new thing for her. He doesn't recognize this part of her as something normal. She's different. He notices it in little ways that he seems surprised he even notices. Like when you finally figure something out, "Wow, I've always known that about this person, I just never thought about it."

Anyway, he seems curious enough about her scar. I wish he'd ask her about it but I think she'd just clam up and shut him out for a long time; he needs to be patient, right?

Still, it's a tough wait.
