Wow, that awoke some inward emotions I was not planning on unboxing this late on a Sunday evening.
But seriously, this was not only a believable anecdote but it was also extremely sad to think of him that lonely. I would love to see how you plan to carry this on ( that is IF you carry this on)
It is rare for me to not only want more from a story that could be left the way it is; but also content with it staying as just a 21 lined piece of literature.

I've never read this book, but this is fantastic work, and it's a real shame nobody has given it the review it deserves before now :(

"Ageless, over the night" is an incredibly evocative phrase, and while I found phrases like "I find" and "there's something about those words that" a little conversational compared to the other verses, the repetition of "And she can" and imagery like "the other side of the rain" is amazing.

Beautifully understated ending; "then I'll die too" is so much more powerful for its simplicity, and you resisted the urge to go overboard expressing the sadness of that.

Amazing. x
