After looking over the first chapter, I think you've got a good idea for a story in here. There wasn't much substance here, but it sounds like we'll get to find out the events behind the break up later.

Your writing style is nice, but I'd like to make a few suggestions. First, lightning is spelled "lightning" and not "lightening," unless you mean you're making something less dark. As in you're "lightening" the colors of your painting.

Second, you have Aang screaming and the lightning screaming through the sky in the same sentence. A touch redundant.

Third is just to make speech less awkward. When people talk, they use contractions like "I'll" and "shouldn't" and "won't" and such. Taking out all contractions makes a character sound stiff or pretentious. It works with some people, or when extra emphasis is wanted- ergo: I should /not/ have come-but it sounds strained here.

Looking forward to finding out what Katara was so upset about. Happy writing. *goes to read rest of chapters*

wow. great set up. i love that you gave an akward moment to Zuko over Katara. these two really hit it off. will the others be joining in the search for this organization? It will be interesting to see how the two pull together and see that their relationship goes beyond friends
