bku chapter 40 . 8/27 I love the stories both of them I do hope you will continue it please |
dixie326 chapter 18 . 8/22/2019 I like that you kept Tara alive. Maybe she will be able to keep Willow grounded instead of her getting too big for her britches like she did in the final season, especially those last few episodes. |
Guest chapter 1 . 8/15/2019 I love this pairing! I love how realistic it is but its still Buffy haha! I never thought I'd like Buffy and Xander as much until I read this! |
JonHarper chapter 39 . 11/18/2018 From the moment I started reading this I was hooked in like the first 3 paragraphs. I could sense there was something very special about this story. Over the course of the next couple of days I was held enraptured; fully absorbed in this tale of Buffy/Xander coming together as a couple. From Buffy's 'awakening' to her feelings for Xander to the wedding being called off. From the trials and tribulations of their relationship as it went up and down to the birth of their children, I was held enraptured. This is quite possibly the best Buffy and Xander love story I have ever read, and I've read some very good ones truly remarkable. Thank you. |
Ashmo21 chapter 39 . 9/18/2018 Thank you for sharing. I loved this! |
Lori2279 chapter 24 . 5/4/2018 Now why couldn't Riley have walked in on this relationship? |
Guest chapter 1 . 4/20/2018 Can you do a nother xander and Buffy story |
The Fallen Sky chapter 39 . 4/16/2018 I find it interesting that Buffy had to be pleaded with in order to get her to step back from the whole slaying while pregnant thing. You'd think she'd jump at the chance to take a break, even if only for the last few months of her pregnancy, especially after being pretty much the only slayer in the world for the better part of seven years. Still, old habits die hard, and I can see why she'd fight being out of action and even a semi-retirement. I'm just glad that she eventually saw the light and realized that her priorities had changed, that saving the world was a distant second to her child and her family. Plus, it's not like the world didn't have plenty of protection from all the new slayers, and I think, out of everyone, she'd earned the right to have as much of a normal life as possible. And let's not forget that she still worked for the Council, so it's not like she was sitting at home all day watching daytime TV. I'm a little surprised that Dawn wanted to get away from Buffy and start her life on another continent. I understand wanting to spread your wings, but I honestly thought Dawn would've wanted to be close to Buffy, if for no other reason than to spend time with her new nephew. Oh well, as long as she's happy. I like the little slice of life moments of the Harris family. The first one was really cute. First of all, I love the realism of Buffy & Xander being in a perpetual state of tiredness. Being first time parents can definitely be draining, especially early on. I also love that they're obsessed with capturing Josh's milestones on camera, in this case, his first steps. I thought it was hilarious that when Josh finally started walking, Xander was so excited that he remember how to work the camera, and by the time he got it working, he'd missed the moment. That sounds like something Xander would do. It also makes me wonder if Xander acted that way when Buffy went into labor. Wouldn't surprise me. lol Still, I love the joy from both Buffy and Xander as they experienced one of the son's milestones. It's clear that they've taken to being parents and love it, sleep deprivation and all. :) The second moment in the life of the Harris family was adorable and also kinda hot. I like how things started out as a normal night, with Xander putting Josh to bed, but then things got interesting when Buffy announced that she was pregnant again. Even though it was big news, it felt like just another part of their lives, albeit a very special part. I simply love that Buffy & Xander immediately went into celebration mode, kissing and getting naked on the bed. But what I love the most is that Xander kissed his way down Buffy's body and started talking to her belly, specifically to the 'little bean' growing inside. Cute nickname, by the way. I know some people might think talking to a pregnant woman's belly is silly, but I think it's adorable and also kinda romantic. I think Buffy thought it was wonderful. You could just feel the joy radiating from both of them and the love they have for each other and their growing family. And let's not forget the celebratory sex. Yeah, we didn't get to see all of it, but my imagination is VERY vivid. lol The last peek into the life of the Harris family was sugary sweet and pretty perfect. Although, I gotta wonder when Buffy learned to drive, at least in a way that's not hazardous to herself or her children. I mean, she sucked at driving throughout the show, so I'm assuming someone taught her the proper way to drive at some point. Either that, or becoming a mother improved her skills. Either way, I'm not surprised that Buffy seems like the kinda mom who's always running just a bit late when it comes to her kids and their activities. At least she makes the effort to be there for everything, even if she doesn't always succeed. And, the kids don't seem to mind, so it's not so bad. By the way, I couldn't help but notice that the ballet and baseball vision came true. I wondered if Xander was just making some of that stuff up when he told Buffy about it, but now it appears that he was telling the truth. You know, for only being in the story for a really brief time, both Josh and Sarah have pretty distinct personalities and are really likeable. Kudos for that. :) Anyway, I love the visual of Buffy holding Sarah's hand and the both of them running to catch the end of Josh's baseball game. I can so easily picture Sarah struggling to keep up as Buffy desperately tries to make it in time to see the end of her son's game. And I love how Sarah perked up when she spotted the family dog with Xander. In my experience, kids love dogs. I know I did, and still do. In any event, I thought it was great how Sarah played with the dog while Buffy put on a baseball hat with Josh's team and Xander managed to kiss Buffy in greeting while never taking his eye of the game. The moment just felt so true to life. And I love how Buffy, Sarah and Xander all watched with rapt attention when Josh came up to bat and how they all cheered him on, much to Josh's embarrassment. I had a feeling Josh was gonna hit the home run to win the game, and while it's kinda cliche, at least he only had one strike before hitting the winning run. Some authors might have dragged out the suspense and made the moment extra cliche. Either way, it was awesome. :) I couldn't help but smile when Buffy & Xander were basically making out after Josh won the game and was celebrating with his teammates. Even after being together for a decade and having two kids, they're still as in love as ever. :) Oh, and Josh saying they were gross because of the kissing was hilarious. Xander's efforts to explain that Josh would feel differently about kissing someday fell on deaf ears, I'm afraid. But, kids just can't understand or appreciate certain things until they experience them for themselves. Having them all head off to get ice cream was a lovely way to end the scene and the story. I especially love that Sarah was getting a piggyback ride from Xander while telling him all about her ballet practice, while Buffy had her arm around Josh and wanted to know everything that happened in the game that she missed. A perfect end to a great story. :) I've absolutely enjoyed the hell outta this story, and I can't thank you enough for writing and sharing it. If there's one issue I have with it, it's that you mentioned Buffy's cheerleader outfit, and yet we never got to see it used during one of Buffy & Xander's sexy-fun-times. Honestly, it almost ruined the story for me. lol Nah, but it would've been awesome to see Xander have sex with Buffy while she's wearing her cheerleader outfit. ;) Seriously, thanks so much for this fantastic story. :) |
angelicedg chapter 39 . 4/16/2018 Damn, this was absolutely one of the BEST stories I have ever read. I loved reading it and am so bummed it ended. Any chance for another? Please? I'd pay but I'm in nursing school and am broke AF. |
RHatch89 chapter 39 . 4/16/2018 great ending :) |
The Fallen Sky chapter 38 . 4/13/2018 Nice take on the final battle. I especially like how Xander is still Xander, fumbling and bumbling his way through the fight until he finally comes through with the right words to activate the amulet. It kinda reminds me of Ash in the movie Army of Darkness, where he has to recite three words before he can remove the book of the dead from its resting place, and he can't remember the last word, so he mumbles his way through with disastrous consequences. At least Xander said the right words, all of them. lol There was some nice drama, too, with Buffy getting stabbed and appearing on her way out, and Xander on the verge of losing it, and her demanding that he give Faith the scythe, and him reluctantly doing it, because he's a good soldier. Man, for a second there, I thought maybe you were gonna flip us all the bird and have Buffy die. Luckily, that wasn't the case. And I love how Buffy seemed to draw strength from the First's taunts, like she'd be damned if she died before winning the fight. I wasn't sure what would happen once the amulet activated, but I was kinda hoping that maybe Sunnydale wouldn't be destroyed. Alas, that's exactly what happened. Again, the drama cranked up when the cavern was collapsing and Buffy coudln't find Xander anywhere. I really thought that maybe you were gonna have him die, which would've SUCKED and broken my heart. Buffy certainly thought she'd lost him, and if it weren't for her innate survival instinct, and the child growing inside her, I think she might have stayed down there and died along with Xander, if she truly believed he was gone. Anyway, I'm glad she made it out, and I was SO relieved when the bus made it to safety and Xander got out, alive and well. The B/X reunion was lovely, very emotional and just beautiful. :) You may have noticed that I glossed over Buffy being pregnant, but now I just wanna say, I KNEW IT! I KNEW she was pregnant. Yeah, you tried to keep it ambiguous, make people think that MAYBE she's pregnant and MAYBE she's not, and I played along, but in my heart I KNEW. The morning sickness was a dead giveaway. I mean, if she'd only gotten sick once, then there would be tons of room for doubt, but getting sick several days in a row and all around the same time of day just screams pregnancy. Plus, when Spike tried to rally Buffy's resolve after the Potentials and most of the Scoobies wanted a change in leadership and kicked her out of the house, it didn't make any sense that he would point to a pregnancy test that was negative. I mean, who gets fired up to fight for NOT being pregnant when what they want is to BE pregnant? Either way, I love that Buffy was kinda sheepish about telling Xander, knowing that he'd be upset that she didn't tell him sooner. I also love that Xander didn't respond right away, because his brain probably short circuited, but when he did respond, he was more pissed about Buffy fighting an apocalypse while pregnant than the fact that she waited so long to tell him. Frankly, I can see both sides of the argument. Certainly, Xander had a right to know that he was gonna be a father. On the other hand, Buffy was right to worry about Xander being super protective of her and their unborn child to the point that he'd do something stupid and get himself killed. Thankfully, neither of them died, and it appears that the bun is still safely in Buffy's oven, so all's well that ends well. :) Gotta say, I like Xander's secondary reaction to Buffy telling him she's pregnant. I knew he wanted to marry her, but I didn't think he'd INSIST that they get married immediately. After all, they just survived an apocalypse and the destruction of Sunnydale. They're currently homeless and without jobs, AND they're expecting a baby in a few months. Getting married shouldn't be their first priority. However, it's kinda fitting that they get hitched ASAP, and I love how everyone just got on board with them having the ceremony right there next to the hole where Sunnydale used to be. I'm sure it's not the wedding Buffy dreamed of, but it's kinda perfect for who they are and what they do. Besides, they can always have a more formal ceremony later, maybe even after the baby is born, so Buffy doesn't have to worry about trying to find a maternity/wedding dress. I think the best part of the impromptu ceremony was the vows. Buffy's vows in particular were excellent, very heartfelt and emotionally powerful. Xander's vows were nice, too, even if they weren't as eloquent as Buffy's. Then again, I wouldn't expect Xander to be able to explain with words just how much Buffy means to him or what it means to him to be marrying her. Either way, it was a lovely way to wrap up an apocalypse. :) The only thing that would've made it better would be if Spike got out of the bus and burned up in the sunlight. lol I couldn't help but notice that you didn't change the story status to 'complete.' Does that mean there's more to come? I hope so, because I would love to see at least a few brief scenes where Buffy is noticeably pregnant, maybe even a little pregnant sex. ;) I'd also love to see the birth of their first child and maybe even the moment when Buffy announces she's pregnant with their second child. Personally, I think the perfect way to end the story would be to show the Harris family at some point in the future, and have Buffy & Xander basking in the joy of finally getting the life they'd dreamed of ever since Xander saw the visions of it at his non-wedding to Anya. But, as long as no one dies, I'll be happy. :) Spike can die, though. I wouldn't mind that. lol |

Daniel6 chapter 38 . 4/13/2018 Is this the end? |
The Fallen Sky chapter 37 . 4/12/2018 The Buffy/Xander scene in the bedroom was just lovely. :) I love the sweet & simple intimacy of the two of them holding each other and talking about the future they both so desperately want, especially their children. I'm sure Buffy has wondered if Xander is just making up all of those stories about their kids and their future life, and I've wondered the same thing. After all, I didn't think the visions Xander saw on the day of his non-wedding included so many details, but more of an overview of what was possible. Still, I wanna believe that what Xander says about their kids and their future is true, and I think it is, because there's so much detail, far too much for him to be making everything up on the fly. Although, Xander could've been thinking about his future with Buffy every day since they got together, so he'd have had plenty of time to come up with lots of stories and lots of details about their life and kids. Either way, his stories are entertaining, and it's clear that Buffy enjoys them. Personally, I think Buffy gains as much strength and hope from Xander's stories as she does from being with him, holding him, kissing him and making love to him. You know, i think what I like best about this story is seeing how much hope and happiness Buffy has about her life in the present and her life in the future. We didn't really see a ton of hope or happiness from Buffy on the show, so this is a nice change of pace. I like the changes made to the scene in the high school between the original core Scoobies. The banter was excellent and, again, very hopeful. I mean, they were about to engage in a ferocious battle, one in which one or all of them could die, and yet they were making plans to prepare for Buffy & Xander's wedding. I just love that Buffy wants Giles to not only walk her down the aisle, but also perform the ceremony. I kinda figured she's want Giles to walk her down the aisle, since he's the closet thing to a father she's got, even though her real father is still alive. Oh, and I love that while Buffy & Willow are talking about going on a shopping spree, they expect Xander to pay for it. Poor guy's gonna be drowning in debt. lol Although, I'm sure Buffy could find a way to "pay him back." ;) Ooh, I also like the final moment between Buffy & Xander where they're talking about when and where they wanna have the wedding. Somehow, I always pictured them getting married on the beach on a nice, warm & sunny spring or summer day. Of course, if they do get married on the beach, Buffy wouldn't really need shoes. In fact, I like the thought of her and Xander being barefoot in the sand, each in their wedding garb and smiling like lovesick fools. :) I thought it was very nice of Buffy to invite Faith to the wedding, even insisting that she be there. The fact that Buffy would even care that Faith be there is a testament to how much things have changed between the two of them. Where once they were mortal enemies, now they're at least sisters in arms if not friends. I can understand why Faith would be uncomfortable and unsure about being at Buffy's wedding, given their history and Faith's history with Xander, but the fact that Faith was willing to do it shows that she's grown and matured as a person, and that's great to see. Can't say I'm surprised that Buffy was adamant that Spike was NOT invited. I mean, why would she want him there? It's not like they're friends. Plus, there are too many bad memories and baggage attached to Spike, and having him at her wedding would just be weird and would probably ruin it. Although, since the wedding is gonna take place outside during the day, maybe Spike should be there. After all, he'll only be there for a few seconds before he burns up. lol And even though Buffy is okay with Faith and Spike being whatever the hell they are, I think Buffy is right that Faith can do so much better than Spike. I just hope Faith believes that and also realizes that if she ever wants a life like the one Buffy is striving for, she's gonna need to find a man with a heartbeat and who can go out during the day. Interesting that no one has to were the amulet necklace. From the sound of it, it's gonna be more like a mystical hand grenade, only instead of pulling a pin, Xander has to say some sort of activation phrase after throwing the amulet toward the enemy. Not a bad change to kind of a major plot point. After all, the amulet killed Spike when he wore it on the show. Granted, he eventually came back, but I don't think anyone wants the drama of having one of the main characters getting burned to a crisp and then having to wait and wonder about whether that character will return at a later date, thanks to magic. Either way, I'm glad the final fight is upon us, if only so we can get the badness out of the way and focus on more joyful things, namely the wedding and, hopefully, Buffy announcing that she's pregnant. Oh, and I'm curious to see if Sunnydale ends up as a giant hole in the ground, or if the town will be intact. |
