This a great story and all that, but I take issue with the fact that you described light-wash flare jeans as 'stylish'. Soma dresses like he robbed a hot topic in 2002. ;P

I could clearly imagine the story line if this fanfic turn into a doujin. If only i could make a doujin out of this-You are my reason why i should ship Alucard and Soma and i love you for that! ;;7;;

I really enjoyed your story and its one-shot continuation. The development of their feelings was quite realistic, and their reactions, too, I believe (though I'm no doctor of psychology 8D). I also enjoyed the idea of home arrest for Soma, I think that should've been done immediately after the first struggle with Chaos in AoS, but hey, Arikado isn't omniscient, is he? :3

And the idea of pairing those two... I have nothing against Mina, but to tell the truth, Soma and Arikado are just made for themselves. And NO, it's NOT incest, Soma only got the powers and a slice of soul, not the mentality and/or personality of Dracula, that's all him and him alone. I agree with your idea of 'soul recycling' :3

All in all, I really enjoyed the fic, I only pity that it's so short and there aren't many people who write stories with this pairing. But, oh well, it may change with time! :3

Sorry it's taken me a while to get to this fic, but your story was worth waiting for. You have lovely word choices and interesting phrasing that keep the story fresh and fun. If I had to point out a criticism, it would be that the story moves very quickly, but seeing as you kept the same fast pacing through the whole story, it works.

Oh, how tragic! I hope your sequel has a happier ending than this. Not that it was bad in any way, but I get all teary when reading tragedies. All Soma wanted was to be loved, not from afar either.

I did notice one tiny error in the last chapter~ After Soma reappeared above Alucard and swung at him with the Great Axe, it says, 'You toyed with my feelings. Now is my turn to toy with you,"

I think you're missing a word in that last sentence. 'It' would sound nicely there, and give Soma's declaration a more definitive edge.

If only Soma didn't die...I feel bad for Alucard now. I was never one for the unhappy endings. But I suppose that Soma just wanted to do what was best for everyone.

This was a surprising turn in the plot, but I suspected a tragedy to rear its ugly head because of how their relationship was looking. The very last scene with Alucard and Soma really defined their love for each other; it is one that transcends time, I believe. Something that lasts. That, and Alucard never catches a break. :/

Hey, I am so sorry for my late review! I was out of town and working a lot, and hardly had any time to check my computer these past few weeks. I wanted to read the final chapter only when I could look at it from start to finish without interruptions.

I am sad that this wonderful story has ended, but after reading it, I think your decision made a lot of sense. The fact that you continued this story until the end shows a lot of dedication and your skills as a writer. I loved AlucardxSoma and this story was one of the best (if not the best) I have read in a long, long time. Everyone was in character and you did a fantastic job portraying Soma’s fall into darkness. I’m not quite sure how I feel about Julius Belmont being killed off so quickly (since he never appeared in this story and didn’t seem that weak in the game – at worst, I thought he would be gravely injured instead) but that’s a minor detail.

This chapter was definitely the most tense, primarily because Alucard and Soma’s relationship, ultimately, leads to a less than happy ending. Even with the best intentions in mind, Aluacard still loses someone dearest to him, which reinforces the tragedy of his vampirism and emotional detachment. Despite Soma manifesting his darker self, his regret and loneliness were tastefully implied. It is very sad that Alucard had to confront Soma in order to prevent him from destroying humanity, because he already carries the burden of regret for not protecting Soma. I was somewhat surprised that your story turned this dark, but pleased that you did not choose to end it sappily. Soma’s self-doubt and emotional insecurities mirrors Alucard, and shows how their connection to Dracula simultaneously unites and divides them. You did a great job showing the contrast between Soma (his true self) and Soma reincarnated (his darker self as Dracula). Soma’s insanity, and Alucard’s attempts to bring his old self back, made this chapter a compelling read.

Your description of Soma’s transformation into the demon painted a horrified image of his broken mind and heart. Despite Soma’s despair, it was touching to read Alucard’s voice calling him back to his old self. Alucard’s wish for things to return to how they were, such as telling Soma they would enjoy music together again, was a nice but sad touch. I think I will interpret the ending of this story in an ambiguous context, even though it is implicative that Soma will die, simply because it makes the ending less decipherable.

Thank you for writing this lovely story. The climatic ending you wrote suited Alucard and Soma’s tragic fates very well, and your descriptions were beautiful to read. I hope you will continue writing more Castlevania stories in the future, since good writers are difficult to find on this site nowadays. If you do, I assure you, I will always be reading :)

I normally don't really care for Soma/Arikado stories, but this was so good. The ending was fantastic. I didn't expect Soma to end up dying. Poor Alucard.

What the-! He's dead! I'm so sad... and mad, but more sad :( I thought there was going to be a happy ending. Then Soma up and dies. Great plot twist. Beautiful story, I'm going to be sad now. I still love your story :)

Wow, wasn't expecting Soma to go all bat shit insane and kill all humans, though im glad Alucard made it to the throne room much faster than he would in the game XP plus the fight scene was pretty cool albeit a little disgusting with the bug puking parts. Too bad Soma kicked the bucket, i would have preferred he lived, but its still an awesome fic

Geez girl.. way to make me go all teary eyed. Must admit that was one hell of a wicked turn in the plot though. I thought the mirror take Soma there but not to that degree, but when I think about it, it does make a lot of sense and I must congradulate you on how well you managed to tie all these chapters together. It goes without saying this is definitly one of my favourite AlucardXSoma fanfics I have read - it stayed true to the characters right to the very end
