I read this one before the contest and thought "Wow, this has a definite chance of winning." And you did!

I think you did such a nice job. The wording is excellent, and even though I've never heard of Anna Akhmatova, I'm sure you did a good job of imitating her style.

First of all, congrats on being the first entrant! I highly congratulate you... :D

Second! This is a very, very good poem. As an aspiring author myself, I recognize the drama and the intensity that another reader might not recognize. So if you get any flames, remember that most people can't recognize such talent! (this is the third time ive written 'recognize')
