ashleytorres2123 chapter 82 . 9/19/2017 I cannot favorite this story, as it was definitely not a pleasant read. This does not mean that the writing was terrible, or that the plot was terrible. Simply that I did not like the events within said story and the ending. Although given a fair warning of incest, the chapters involving the Orihara siblings and Izaya was very disturbing and actually made me feel quite ill. Also, I have so much love for Izaya Orihara. And I do believe that he is one fucked up individual but I absolutely despised him in this. And I cannot accept his character in this story because everything he did was basically because he could not have Shizuo. Time and time again, he hints the similarities between Mikado and Masaomi and he and Shizuo. I guess I'm left unsatisfied because Shizuo just seems to let Izaya keep doing what he does, despite knowing. Shizuo was invented to oppose Izaya so that Izaya is NOT invincible. But here he seems to understand that Izaya is "in love" with him and of course, he doesn't accept him as he is, but, he also does not stop him in his self destruction and the destruction of others. There is no closure between Izaya and Shizuo. And I know this is a Masaomi/Izaya fic but it all came down to Shizuo and Izaya in the end and I just felt it unresolved. Aside from all that I disliked about the story, you are an excellent writer. You set moods very well. I often felt unsure of who I was angry at within the story. There was so much angst and you wrote these characters so well. It always puzzles me how 2 people can claim to be friends and not know a thing about the other (which is canon in Durarara) you were able to tie all characteristics of each character to their canon selves, although I was none too please with the circumstances that you provided for them to at in. I guess, congratulations and creating such a fic that I was so disturbed with reading, although could not put down. |
victory over death chapter 12 . 10/23/2015 This Kida isn't like Kida but he is like me. He appreciates all the spectacular cruelty that Izaya offers he doesn't try to hide it or make excuses. He loves / likes him not inspite of who Izaya is but actually because of who he is, how he is, what he does. I love how Kida is grateful for Izaya's attention no matter if it is hurtful. I applaud his self control, I don't think I would be able to keep myself from seeming desperate. I'd probably be too eager and Izaya would bore of me much too quickly. I have never read another story were a character appreciates Izaya's maliciousness like this. I am awed I really am thrilled. Kida understands, we can see the appeal of Izaya. |
CaptianvKickass chapter 13 . 8/26/2014 Ahhhhhhh! I need to stop reading your dark stories! I've been on a binge of just reading dark fanfiction but this one so far has me going the worst when it comes to feeling a mix of dread, anger, and sorrow. I swear I'm going to have a heart attack if I keep reading this. You're an excellent writer, and I oh so love that you're willing to push the limit on the darkness in these stories. |
WolfGoddess chapter 82 . 8/13/2014 I commend you on your good ending. You stopped it just in time to avoid it from droning on and on, which would make it boring. You put this story excellently. |
WolfGoddess chapter 81 . 8/13/2014 Nice going. I like it. If you went too much farther, it would have lost it's appeal. |
WolfGoddess chapter 77 . 8/13/2014 Eheheh. Kida's so awesome in this scene! |
Chione-chan chapter 82 . 7/31/2014 I...am at a loss for words. Heartbreaking? Horrifying? Intriguing? Bittersweet? Enlightening? Beautiful? Not exactly. It's frustrating to not be able to convey one's emotions precisely in words. This narrative didn't even do that; instead, it painted a picture. More accurately, a series of paintings that fit together (maybe with jagged edges? ;) ) and merge into one gigantic and vibrant mural. no, a fresco because it came alive and couldnt be contained in two dimensions. The end was fine as it was because it might have been weird with including Namie. Plus there would have been the "Tell me the truth Angry tears" moment from Kida. Though it would be fascinating. Perhaps you can write an alternate ending? Just for me? lol. But seriously, BRAVO. |
Chione-chan chapter 79 . 7/31/2014 (Whining) Mikado, I love you, but I love Izaya more, so if you kill him, I will be very mad at you. |
Chione-chan chapter 73 . 7/30/2014 I quoted Izaya's speech in the beginning for my friend because it was both a summary and taste of the philosophy/mind games presented in your work. Her response was "Damn. He/she should be an English major." Maybe you are? Anyway, bravo! I have been burning through this for the past 4 days (including reading the human table scene at 1am lol), completely entranced by your depiction of these characters. AT FIRST, I thought the characters were Ooc, but I realized that you just coaxed out their calm inner darkness. I can't give much constructive criticism because this is just too... |
Chione-chan chapter 44 . 7/28/2014 Where can I find such a resturant? *shot* |
NozomiSayo chapter 82 . 3/30/2014 I really like how you manage to continue whit the "Izaya only love Shizuo fact" and still make a good Izaomi fanfic and was sad because Masaomi dies but i don't see another finale who fits so well like this. |
nightviolets chapter 82 . 3/25/2014 I read this in two days. I absolutely loved it. I think it was so sad for Kida to think that Izaya didn't love him. The incest was written in sickening detail, and your alluding to Izaya's love for Shizuo (and the moment he said it aloud) was both depressing and infuriating. But that's what separates good writing to truly great stories. The point is to make the reader feel something, and that includes discomfort. As time passed, I resolved to stop reading because of how dark it was, yet I couldn't bring myself to stop. I think that you were right in saying that having Kida die for Izaya tied up the story. The last scene was my favorite. Izaya subtly letting Kida know that he loved him was such a bittersweet moment. Things could've been different if he'd come to that conclusion sooner; they could've been in an actual relationship. Masaomi finally heard what he'd always dreamed of, and he died happily. I applaud you for this story. Your grammar was impeccable, and your word choice was perfect. Please don't stop writing; you have a real gift. |
psicopsicose chapter 82 . 3/9/2014 You killed me slowly with this fanfiction, and I love you for that. Seriously, this is the best fanfiction I've ever read. Thank you so fucking much. 3 |
KawaiiWuv chapter 5 . 7/21/2013 That's so mean...;_; At the end,Izaya was being a meaniepoohead...xD |
Thepoisonchild chapter 82 . 11/2/2012 This will forever be my favorite fic, iluvit. I love your style of writing, also, the ending was completely breath taking. |
