Did you write a sequel to this story as I would love to read more. I've only discovered the trilogy recently.

Sooo I'm not that far along in the actual show but to find out weir is dead I'm just pooped.

Estou devorando cada palavra. Mas meu coração ficou tão pequeno com tanta dor e angustia que o John tem sofrido. Espero que tenha um fim mais ameno. Gosto do jeito que escreve. Quando começei a ler sua historia, pensei que era a historia que estava procurando. Mas está quse lá. Queria ler uma historia com o nosso querido John de molho na enfermaria durante um evento fora do normal. Ele talvez um resfriado bem forte,decorrente de exastão... e sua equipe preocupada e salvando o dia com a ajuda dele é claro! A Elizabeht mais presente recuperação dele, dispensando boa parte do seu tempo ajudando-o. Desculpa a sugestão, mas amo o John mais humano e memos super humano, com muitos capitulos, para agente se envolver na historia. Estou ansiosa para ler o final de THE TIES THAT BIND.

I am SO very glad you pointed me in the direction of this story! It is absolutely fabulous! (Now I need to go back and read the first one that introduces Forant!)

There's so much in this story to comment on that I'm not sure I'll make all of it. But there were some twists I wasn't expecting. The time travel was one. Taking John back to 1975 at the beginning was a move I wouldn't have thought of! Of course, once that happened, I knew there were moments when it would happen through the rest of the story. Another moment of time travel I loved was John getting to see Orville Wright take the first flight.

In spite of how downright evil he is, Forant is a fascinating character. His obsession has twisted his brain, but he still protects John in a very sick kind of way. If my vote counts, I definitely would love to see Part Three of this saga!

Loved how you actually explored a bit of the psychological trauma John had to endure once he was rescued. A lot of whump stories (including my Carson ones) end with the person being whumped back on Atlantis and happy. I was never so grateful as when you extended for a couple of chapters after John was rescued to let him react to what he had been through. I felt like the emotion during those scenes was very real for each of the characters, in particular for John. I think each of the characters would react to what had happened differently, and each of them would need their own time to recover.

Finally, loved Carson in this one! (You knew I'd eventually get there, didn't you?) :) I thoroughly enjoyed the part he played, coming into the mix to make an important discovery and then leaving the rest of the brilliant work to Rodney. Stella and her past with Carson was another touch I very much enjoyed. Having her around all these years later-and having him be the clone of the Carson she remembers-was an interesting slant. I'd be interested in seeing some more of the past you have created for Carson if you're ever so inclined to write it.

Wonderful, wonderful story! Drew me in from the beginning, and I'm on the edge of my seat for the next portion of this saga! :)

Oh, poor John... ouch! He really went through the ringer here... having to re-live the Wraith feeding alone had to have been painful...

Love how Dave comes to the rescue but it's Rodney who finally gets John back on track.

What a ride! I haven't read the first story in this series but I will as soon as possible. Great read and I loved all the action!

Great story. I love that you used IE and the dental route for the cause. However you stated that it was a fishbone piercing his gum that introduced the infection, and that it was bacterial. Then you said it was viral. Considering the method of injury that put the pathogen into John's blood stream and the fact that it is extremely difficult to treat viral infections, we can only conclude that it is a bacterial infection. So if you could please clear this up it would help. It is your story and I'm only 2 chapters in and I don't want to misunderstand or make assumptions, and believe it or not whether it is a virus or bacteria causing the problem is relevant to the arc of the story. Anyway I love the idea of John being challenged by such a mundane illness rather than an injury while playing hero. I think it would bother him just as you have said. Great story so far can't wait to finish it!

Such a great story. I think what I loved the most was your really taking John to the brink-isolated, alone, out of time, hurt, abused, absolutely no hope of rescue and then reliving every traumatic moment he'd ever experienced on Atlantis. You are a brilliant whumper, my dear!

Loved seeing Dave in this and really loved him doing what he had to do to save his brother.

I just finished the story and what an awesome story it is!Thankyou so much for writing this! I love Shep centric stories and yours with John's evil grandpa are truly among my top favorites! John may have gotten his looks from dear old grandpa, but not his character! Poor John getting whumped is "bad" :) but by his own is truly diabolical! :)

While Forant's wishes to rid the galaxy of Wraith is admirable, he truly has no conscience or compassion-think those skipped his generation and were given to John-in spades! Love the physical and mental whump-I just love the way John handles everything. Hope you have more ideas musing around your creative mind, cause as long as you will write 'em, I will definiely be there to read 'em! But please don take too long! LOL!

Loved this story! You kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning. One of the great things was I had no idea where you were going with it. I knew you had to fix everything by the end but I had no idea how you were going to get there. Taking them back to the planet that introduced us to Forant was a great way to bring everybody back together. You definitely have my vote for another round. Thanks for the great story. Been following your stories for a while and don't think I've given you reviews, even though I should because I totally love your stories. Followed this one from the start. My only problem with it is that I had a problem when I had to wait a day or two in between for the next chapter! I checked for your updates everyday and am happy that you updated almost every day! I was glued to this story. I LOVE your Shep whump and you do a great job following up with it. Not too many new Shep whump stories out right now and you gave me my fix. You have well written and long chapters that keep drawing me in. I really love your Forant character...just evil, yet there's just something about him. I think that you NEED to bring him back for another round. Shep needs to catch up to him again and beat the poop outta him. So, I am adding my vote in for another Forant v. Shep story. Again, loved this story and where you took it. I would look forward to reading more from you, hopefully soon.

Just discovered this, read it all the way through at one go, I have major apologies to make to neglected family but it was worth it! Really enjoyed the whole story, especially the way you've captured attitudes and outlooks of the characters, and filled in blanks of family (with Dave) and the internal lives of our friends, especially John. I will be back to re-read, and to look for the earlier episode with Forant - fascinating idea, that guy. Thank you, thank you very much.
