its been 6 years... where is the next chapter?

So I'm on chapter 20...and its incomplete, should I keep going? How uncompleted is it thio?

What I mean by my last review, you seem very unconfident in your writing skills but not many can make people read 450,000 words with them wanting to read more. What I looked forward to most since Aang woke up is the serious chat between him and Katara, and eventually the reconciliation (happy ending). I just hope you see all these reviews asking for you to finish it. If it means anything to you, I like to pretend your fic is canon, cause honestly, it is so intricate and interesting and the story line is so good. Judging by your update, it seems you’ve experienced multiple events which weren’t the most pleasant but I want you to know that we’re always here with you, and you‘ve genuinely made me (and no doubt many others) happy, with this story. This is easily the best fan fiction I’ve ever read. But I actually can’t believe how I’ve been binge-reading it for the past few days to find out it’s not even finished. RainAndRoses, if you see this, even though it’s been 6 years, please just finish it. Even if the ending isn’t good, just write something. I need to know what happens in the end. Please, for the sake of my sanity

I just wanted to say that I love your story so much.

I usually don't read fanfiction, I only did it once after a I finished the game "Life is Strange". I liked the story, I liked the ending. But I couldn't stop thinking about it for some weeks. Imagining what happened next to the characters, even if they lived a normal life after the main story. That's what drove me to seek fanfiction for the first time in my life, after years of thinking that it was just some outlet for shippers to do their thing without must respect for the original story. Heh, I definetly was wrong about that. The fanfiction I read at that time had more quality than the main story, more passion, and became my new headcanon. I even tried reading another fanfiction after that, but I couldn't finish it, because that void that I sought to fill was already filled. I knew what happened after the main story, and it was good, and I was happy. Closure. So I didn't touch fanfiction for sometime. It served it's purpose to me.

Then, flash foward to today, after having watched ATLA for the first time 3 weeks ago. I felt the same way again. Couldn't stop thinking about it. I watched the first season of LoK, but it wasn't what I needed (don't get me wrong, I'm loving LoK so far, I'm beggining Season 3 right now, but it's pretty clear that they are completely different stories). I needed more from ATLA. Then I stumbled upon this story. This amazing story. I think I'm very very lucky that the two times in my life that I needed fanfiction I was greeted by the best of them upfront. I've been reading this for the last 5 days and this is already my headcanon and this story will always be in my heart, even if it's never truly finished.

I love the way you write. I love your Author Notes. I love the way that you write our beloved characters. I love how you get into their minds. I love how you create suspense. Nothing here feels forced or out of character. I love your OCs. I like this more than I like the ATLA comics and for me this is more canon than the comics.

So, to sum it up: thank you so much for everything you did with this story. Even if you finish it or not. Yes, my heart is a little bit broken right now. But it's ok, it will pass, and I will have great memories about this story. You are an amazing writer and I hope that in these years that you haven't been updating, that your life is the best possible, and that you are very happy. If you someday decide to write a novel (or already did), please let us know. I would buy it day one.

Just want to say, in the comics Zuko and Mai broke up, but got beck together again. I don’t know if they got married or not. And while Aang and Katara kissed, Sokka went outside to tell Aang something and was surprised and told Katara as his sister she had to protect him from the Oogies. They argued then Aang piped up and asked him why he was out.

Also attempted at some closure for this story, if anyone is interested. Thank you so much for this blessing of a story. I hope that you take my attempt at a conclusion to your story as a compliment, rather than an insult. And if you come back and it makes you uncomfortable, just let me know and I promise to take it down. I just became so attached to your character development and even the OCs you've created. As attached as I would be any real franchise, including the official A:TLA and it's storylines. Your story has helped me through a really tough time and I sincerely hope that you are doing well. We all miss your writing more than you could ever know, and i've only just recently completed reading this story. Please come back soon and hope you're taking good care of yourself.
