This was amazing, though. So sad and heartbreaking and sad and beautiful and sad and wonderfully written and sad and amazing and had I mentioned it was sad yet?

Right on, Hedwig466! I compared Fiyero’s death to that exact same thing. For some really weird, sick, twisted reason—and please don’t kill me when I say this—I almost enjoy the stories where Fiyero dies. *cringe!* Please don’t hate me! I have a good reason! I am, by nature, the biggest drama queen there ever was. When I say “drama”, I mean soap opera-type stuff. In other words, I absolutely live for sad, sappy, heartbreaking stories such as this. I don’t know what it is; maybe I just enjoy a really good cry every couple of days. Mostly at Fiyero’s expense. :-/

I almost cried. And I don't cry. That's all there needs to be said.

I kept waiting for Elphaba to whip out the Grimmerie and Scarecrow-ify Fiyero...oh well, I should've seen that this story was labeled as a tragedy...and, damn, that was sad...I almost cried

Is this the ending?

I was wondering if you were going to trick us and give us an unexpected happy ending, but you were brave enough to go for a realistic (if very sad) plot. At least some good came of the sad events, Glinda and Elphaba able to see each other again and reaffirm their friendship.

Also I'd like to mention the realism, the violent coughing, etc, that gave this story just enough hard edge to stop it being mushy.

But, what happened to Elphie? Did she just run away, whither and die, or what? I mean, I think we're all aware that she doesn't do well without Yero, but... I'm curious! :P *hugs Elphie because I'm sure she needs it*
