Lady R. Joseph chapter 20 . 12/11/2019 this is sad af |
Heather Snow chapter 23 . 11/21/2019 Really enjoyed this story. The twist was very well done. Twists in fanfiction are usually handled one of two ways, either a) it's very obvious what's coming for quite a while or b) it comes from nowhere with nothing that you can really look back at as clues. Sometimes, the latter is bad like when the twist contradicts what we know of the characters or it doesn't make sense that no clues exist, but sometimes, it's okay because sometimes life happens like that with everything changing without any signs in a moment. What I like about your twist is that it was neither one of these. I didn't know a surprise was coming, but once I knew about it, I could look back and see little details related to it. Nothing that would give it away, but details that look different in reverse. Very well done. As always, great characterization, nice dialogue, good plot. If you ever felt like offsetting your sex scenes with asterisks or putting them in a chapter of their own so they are easy to skip over for those of us who prefer to, that'd be great. :-) |
Derryred chapter 12 . 3/8/2017 Hello. This has been a very enjoyable piece of fanfiction! However, regarding the cure synthesis: the numbers are so horribly, terribly wrong that the mind boggles, no matter how made up the story is. You do realize a kilolitre is a 1000 litres? Half a kilolitre being 500 litres? There is NO WAY that a humanoid being of the approximate measurements of a human has ANYTHING in those amounts, much less an enzyme usually found in bodies in the general amounts of millilitres at most. The ones not circulating in blood are ridiculously hard to extract, too - you'd need to mash up the tissue it is in, and to get everything, you'd basically need to put the entire body in a blender and try to extract a single substance. Not possible, or rather, not what you want to portray, I'd think. Please, please change it to anything smaller. I know this isn't a scientific thing, not really, but please, put something that makes even a little bit of sense. I'm a university biochemist, and I've reason to know - I've extracted, purified and analyzed a lot of proteins in a lot of different ways. I assure you, there isn't even that much water in a body, much less enzymes. Check your units next time. Otherwise, very nice work. |
Honor Reid chapter 23 . 1/25/2017 I loved your story! I had so many emotions reading this story. Joy and grief and everything in between. It was very well written. Thank you! |
honeyberry2000 chapter 22 . 9/6/2016 s weird to be so sad and happy at the same time. I felt the "feels" throughout and it never let go. Another lost child for the Doctor and heartbreaking lost motherhood for Martha before her time. As a mum I understand the burden of life and legacy, that what you instill and leave behind. As for CJ I couldn't help but to quote the blrilliant Dr. Suess, "You're off to Great Places! You're off and away! You have brains in your head, have feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself any direction you choose. you 're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go." |

Annienygma chapter 23 . 9/14/2015 To be honest I've never been a big fan of Ten/Martha pairings (she wasn't my favorite companion) but I REALLY liked this story. It was so touching. Thank you for sharing it. |

thebestthing13 chapter 23 . 7/19/2014 So, it's 2:33 am and you have pretty much ruined my morning for me because after reading this gem of yours I need to read every other Doctor Who fic you've written. This is glorious and genius. Seriously. Other people may have figured out the whole CJ thing, but I sure haven't. And it was pretty clever of you to think of that. Also, the deeper stuff you've handled so well. I especially loved the Mandela bits. The one thing criticism I could give is that your Martha seems a bit...off at times. But I still love her and you did write the Doctor brilliantly. Thank you for this jewel of a fic. :) -Hannah |
