OriksGaming chapter 1 . 6/24/2015 'Litherin boy who just 'raduated... I couldn't keep reading when you were writing it like this. They can pronounce S and G sounds, consonants, it's only the H's that they really have trouble with, as it's written in canon, and this was impossible to get through. Also, when you had Fleur say Je 'ave not met any 'Ogwarts boys yet... After years of knowing the language, even if she spoke with an accent, she would not just replace an easy and common word like I, just as if you were speaking French and you knew the language you wouldn't say, "I suis" instead of Je suis. It's just awkward, it makes no sense why you would do that, and it's nothing like when someone will curse in their own language. I mean, if you want to have someone open up a sentence with Mon dieu or Merde, and then have them say the rest of the sentence in English, that's fine. If you're going to try to depict their french accents, at least learn what words you should use a z in front of or where to take off the first letter of a word in your writing, rather than writing sentences that are very difficult to read, and make it sound like the French students are idiots and have a very incomplete grasp of the language, rather than what it should be depicted as, which is just an accent. |
greekmythfreak chapter 8 . 5/18/2015 You should write more |
Paddybee chapter 1 . 5/11/2015 I would love to actually read this, but the bad french accent is so off-putting that I have abandoned it. Simply replacing the first letter with an apostrophe does not work. |
