Wow. I read through all four chapters of this, falling more and more in love with your writing style at each word, and that's all I can say. Wow.

I have to say, the first chapter is my absolute favourite. Especially the ending. You have Near down perfectly, and the part about 'a smile he only spares for Mello' made me go...all right, I can't describe it, it was just too beautiful. I love their interaction and dialogue, and the way you make it so sweet and memorable but not mushy or overly sentimental. Before this, I always saw Near/Mello as a sort of onesided crush on Near's part; but you've officially gotten me in love with this pairing. 'He doesn't say it but I have the ability to read everything— which is a lot— he doesn't tell me. And no, it's not an ability I'm proud of.' I loved that sentence. It just summed up their relationship so perfectly, how they know each other so well.

And the fourth chapter! It was flawless. Very few people can pull off a Near's POV fic in first person, but you did it. 'Your anger is like sharp paint mixed with the thin pencil strokes and it moves the painting to a whole new dimension.' - that first sentence, and I was hooked. I love how you portray him as in love but still totally in character, making it all just so plausible.
