I like the flow of your writing. It runs smoothly and the lack of context (i.e. what precisely was Ed upset about) was not too off putting.

I like this very much. It's not the usual Ed immediatly cries like a baby and Mustang hugs him to death stuff that is far to fluffy. You portrait very well how those two do care for the other but do respect the others pride and and do what's necessary without exaggeration or letting the other look weak for being sad.

Aww this is so sweet :3 I don't feel like Ed's OOC since we all know that he cares deeply for Al and would do anything for him. One question though, what happened with Al? I was hoping you were going to explain :c

I just simply adore the father son thing going on here, because I've dreamt of these kind of things with Roy and Ed, so thanks for posting this! BTW, Ed's not OOC, but Roy's being more patient. Maybe because he's tired and doesn't feel like demanding answers? Or maybe seeing Edward like this made him feel like he had to soften up. Either one of those make sense.

If you don't mind, I have a recommendation if you decide to continue this. I was thinking that maybe, if Roy tries getting answers at a time when Ed's calmer/Mustang's less tired, Roy should be more commanding. That's all. But hey, it's your story, not mine. But yeah, great story! I really hope that you choose to continue it!

The only thing that could possibly make it better is a second chapter!

This is a good beginning to the story. So something happened with Al and that's as far as they were going to get that night, it's pretty understandable. Trying to pull information out of Ed when he's in that state is not a good thing, so it's a good choice for you to make Roy patient until Ed's ready to open up.

I don't think Ed is OOC in this chapter. If he's truly upset about something, something that has affected Al, then it's natural for him to be emotional enough to cry. If he's going to Roy of all people (and even allowing Roy to hold him), then something really bad must have happened. If you're planning on Al being dead or even kidnapped, or any other form of danger, then Ed should have said something sooner and pretty much demanded Roy to help him find him. If they just got into an argument, or something less significant than Al's life being in danger, then remaining silent about it is a better choice. Still it has to be something big for Ed to go crying to Roy.

As for Roy, it's nice to see him comforting Ed like that, but I think he would be more surprised to see Ed standing outside his apartment than you described. Just a little advice here, don't forget that Roy is not the most patient of people, if he doesn't get some answers soon he might lose his patience with Ed and say something he'll regret.
